What `s up with the Marine Corps?

They said on the news yesterday recruitment is down because they cant pass the physical to even be considered

It's way worse. There aren't enough 18 year olds, period. Gen Z is a small generation, and the recruits just don't exist. Yes, millennials are no longer of age to serve, the oldest are in their early 40s.

Add the already low population with the lack of physical ability and you see what we have now. If I was a physically capable, driven, and intelligent 18 year old, the armed forces would the the last place I looked. Especially if I was white, male, and straight. There's far more opportunity in places that will actually welcome you.

Here is a statement from a retired O-6 Marine Colonel on the subject of joining the military. He served for 31 years.

BASED ON YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO THOSE WHO HAVE RECENTLY JOINED THE MARINE CORPS?

In the past, I would always recommend someone thinking of entering the Marine Corps to do so, up until the past few years. Now, the military has unfortunately been made into an occupational field, such that it is seen to be like a civilian job. Political correctness, diversity, wokeness, etc., have become more important than the former mission of defending the Country. Our combat readiness has deteriorated accordingly, such that it is no longer "MY" Marine Corps. It would be nice if that changes in the future, but at this point, I can't see how. If you are a young man or woman, think twice about joining the service, and know exactly what you are getting into. Hope we don't get into another war, as I am afraid the Country will not fare well.

It appears times have changed....They really don't need human snipers. They now have robotic drones for that, with real time battlefield information, exact targeting locations, numbers, types of military and it's hardware, sent back to the command centers...instantly. Command decides how to engage, when, where, necessary hardware to employ, or who to target, the drone accurately finishes that job, instant results are observed by command...Simple...Snipers are outdated, only poor countries use them. Still somewhat effectively...but we can trace the bullet trace instantly, with new electronic equipment attached to something you can escape from...one shot and the sniper is dead too...unless it's a miss then the sniper is the only dead one. Technology and AI have come to the battlefield, making snipers ancient history... like Drawing a sword.
But a sniper is still useful if deployed correctly...and in unsuspecting areas, where the new technology hasn't been expertly deployed.
Remember the low tech Chinese weather balloon...and "the Gaps in Coverage"...excuse, or truth, ..but it's an "official statement"...Now, You Know, too.

In a war of scale, like we are seeing in Ukraine, it is pretty obvious that technology only lasts until its gone, then its back to the sword. Unless of course the genius's decided all wars are going to be fought with tech. In that case, knee pads are needed.

In a similar vein, I read recently that the Pentagon is bitching at the arms industry in America (ya, the free market one) because they can't keep up with arms production. Yep , this same bitching from the same Pentagon that has cut spending on production since the Bush years. I guess they think the arms and powder companies work the same way as the Pentagon and other government...you know, keeping staff on in useless positions, paying them and the bloated "work force" of "staff" for doing nothing until the flag drops (and then they retire)?
Is it any wonder those businesses (needing to make a profit) scaled back and don't just have piles of stuff sitting around in case we need it? Oh...that would be the job of war planners! But they are busy, you know, working on pronouns.

My son is in Marines currently.infantry
He's getting out in a little over a year due to USMC being woke and poor leadership in his battalion.
Kids passing out to go to medical and constantly whining they are being hazed.hes sick of it.he wasn't allowed to pass out when he joined and tired if being over panzy kids.pretty sad cause my son has never been one to give up or quit on anything but we also tried to tell him to not join infantry cause he's super smart but an old soul compared to kids nowadays.
But be wanted to be a bad ass and kick doors down.lol
Have alot of good stories about the Alabama boy being only person to reassemble an AR bcg, get JLTV humvee up a hill pulling a trailer in sand and on and on but I raised him right.

Yeah emp is definitely a real threat.
Folks buying electric cars playing into the Dems plan not to mention the emp threat.we need to strengthen our power grid

I'll just leave this here. Do some research on the demographics and you'll understand why the armed forces are having a difficult time recruiting .
