what reticle on sightron s3 10x50?

Looking for opinions on the reticle of the sightron 10x50s from sightron owners please?

I was leaning toward a fine crosshair... I was thinking that the mildot and moa reticales are a bit thicker (maybe too thick?) crosshairs and also that holdover with mildots might be hard being that i probably wont shoot at the same magnification level all that often....?? Scope would be for long range target and some some varmint. Opinions please?

I've been shooting our club's BR Varmint Silhouette matches with a 6-24x50 SIII with their std. dot reticle, and have been very pleased with it. The dot is small enough so that it doesn't obscure enough of the small varmint targets to cause a problem, yet is large enough to see when low light or low contrast might cause problems with the fine crosshair. Also have two 8-32x56 SIIIs with the same reticle, and the same comments apply.

I have a 10x50 with Fine Crosshair and one with Mildot. I think the FC is a little too fine and slightly prefer the mildot.
I also have an 8x32 with the MOA2 reticle and it is my favorite. Crosshairs on it are finer than the mildot. The MOA2 center dot is definately smaller than 1/4 min when on full power. Wish Sightron offered it without illumination in the 10x50.
I had an 8x32 with the 1/4 min dot and didn't like it at all.

The duplex X-hairs on my Leupold 12X's obscure less than my SIII 20X w/MMD. For this reason and your purposes I would recommend the fine.

I have 2 Sightron SIII 10-50's, one is the fine crosshair mounted on my .223AI and the other is the Target Dot mounted on my 6X47 L. They both track well, but 50X to my eyes is a little dark and hazy so I run them both on 45X for way out there. I bought the fine crosshair here on the sight for a good deal used as I needed one other scope and had never owned a fine crosshair style scope. But after using the crosshair this spring I am finding myself liking it as good as the target dot. If hunting strictly varmints I would go with the target Dot. easier to see the dot on a brown furry varmint than the crosshair.

that is kinda what i was thinking. i liked that reticle the most but i really didn't want to pay the extra $$$ for the illumination...that is kinda why im leaning toward the fine crosshair.

sound like maybe the fine crosshair is a little too fine though.

ugh...just realized that only the fine crosshair, target dot, and mil dot are available with 1/8 clicks.
Oh yes I forgot, that is the other thing I don't like about the MOA2.

All three of my SIII 10-50x60 scopes have the target dot with fine crosshair. All I can say is I'm satisfied with that reticle as I don't have any of the other reticles to compare it to.
