what resin/epoxy to fill stock cavity?

HS Precision stock for LRPV Savage. The balance of the rifle was off so I removed the rear swivel stud and drilled down into the hollow cavity of the stock, then filled it with shot.

The weight is perfect, I'm very happy with how it has tuned out so far.

What would be a good resin/epoxy to use to fill in around the shot and solidify everything inside the cavity? It would have to be pretty thin, viscous, to flow into all the little spaces through a 1/4" hole.

Any suggestions?

Why not fiberglass resin. Once you catalize it, you can thin it with MEK. Both should be available at a local hardware store.

Don't push the resin with too much catalyst as you don't want too much heat to develop during the cure.

Do a test batch and see how it turns out.

Make sure you thin after the catalyst has been throughly mixed.

Remove the buttpad and plug the hole you drilled. Now pour the shot out and mix it WITH the epoxy to any thickness you like and pour the mixture back into the hollow cavity. Once it sets up its all one piece and solid.

I have done this a few times myself. If you every want it back out a 1/2" drill bit works very good.

Good shooting

Just finished up using fiberglass resin cut with acetone to fill the spaces between the shot. I went through the hole that I drilled where the rear swivel stud was. I used a small funnel and tapped the stock to get the air bubbles out and to settle the resin. It took almost 1/2 a cup of resin before I couldn't hear the shot rattling and the a few more ounces to top it off. I masked off the stock and it was a good thing because it was a little messy. Will let it set for the night and post pics when I can. Thanks to all for the great replies.
