stud screw removal

I have a Savage model 12 LRPV, with the HS Precision synthetic stock, and sling/bipod swivel studs installed. Will they unscrew cleanly, so that a benchrest adapter can be mounted on the forend? I ask because I saw a used Remington with a synthetic stock, where the studs had been removed. looking like tooth extractions, just big ugly holes. If I am going to use my new Sinclair benchrest adapter, I need a nice clean threaded hole for the Sinclair supplied mounting screw. I would also like to remove the rear stud, so that it doesn't interfere with a rear bag. Thought i would ask before I started twisting/yanking on the studs, and maybe making a mess.
Thanks, Ed

im not famialr with this particular savage but i do know that often times in the higher end guns they place some type of metal insert for the stud to thread into..if you dont want to pull it out to see..often times you can remove the barreled action and see the metal insert from the top of the barrel channel

Ed; The 2 Savage rifles I had, (both with factory stocks), had a threaded stud in the forend for easy removal of the stud, and secure installation of a Harris Bi-Pod. A Model 12BVSS had 2 forend studs, both with the machine threaded studs.

Both had wood screw threads for attachment to the buttstock. All came out & were replaced many times without any problems or damage.

As noted, remove the barreled receiver & look in the barrel channel & you should see the threaded stud, or in many cases, the stud will be screwed into the aluminum bedding block.
