I am a complete novice at this and have done one bedding job so far. The stock I used was a Boyd's Tacticool (laminated wood), pillars were made on a friend's lathe, JB Weld for compound, and Armor All for a release agent.
It doesn't look nearly as nice as Cigarcop's pics but it is functional- tightened up the pattern and improved the cold bore shot.
One question I have is how much play should there be in the pillars where the screws go through? Some look sloppy and some look tight. Mine are on the tighter side.
