What Pillars to use?

I make pillars out of aluminum bar stock.

Curve or flat, really doesn't make a difference. Stress free is the key, Alex Wheeler has a video on stress free bedding which I encourage you to watch.

Although these are contoured, a flat top is just as good.

Should i get adjustable pillars or the solid ones from Brownells?

I use the pre made packs from Midway. Just easier for me. I bought a bunch of blanks and cut them to fit but if you're doing one, get the pre made. About $11-12.00

Buy the one piece pillars. What's under the hood should fit as well and look as good as the exterior parts

Sounds good. I don't have any machine tooling. If i need to trim them, how should i go about that?

A fine tooth hacksaw blade will work just fine. If the cut is a bit jagged, you can dress it up with a file.

I make my own as well and mill the bottoms to length after bedded & recess for action screws.

Haha!!! .....Trust me Josh if I can do it so can you!!...it's just using basic fundamentals of what your trying to achieve.
I struggle in plenty of places where others excel!!!!
