What loading process do you no longer do?

My list could be long, so I will just start with a few.
- weighing anything besides powder
- trying to get my bullet concentricity under .003”
- annealing after every firing

Well I only shoot F class, I used to shoot service rifle. So I gave up weighing cases and bullets. I do not weigh charges, I just throw those puppies.

500-600 yd Benchrest, how do different disciplines impact your loading proceedures?

well i am still working through the process of finding all the posible things we can do to improve accuracy. like to read about those who have already gone through the process.

my process is much different for my hunting rifles than my bench guns.

with my bench guns i try everything from sorting brass and bullets, pointing and trimming, neck turning, custom sizing dies, wilson seaters with 21st century hydro press, using adam's autotrickler, sorting by seating effort and concentricity, small incremental improvments in group size at each evolution of my reloading education.

still trying to separate the wheat from the chaff.

you got to be kidding me.
loading for a pestol for plinking
vs
loading for any benchrest competition

are not even in the same world.

My list of tools/toys is very similar to yours. Today, if my necks are more than .0002 +/- off target the necks are re-skimmed or used as foulers only. Seating with a PSI force gauge, my (2) sorts are now either 10-15 lbs or 15-20 lbs. The few loaded rounds that are out of range, are taken apart & reloaded or culled. To keep it simple, the only 6mm bullets I shoot are the new Berger 105gn VLD Hunting Bullets. Today, about 90-95% of these Bergers sort into (3) .001” groups. Recently I decided to switch from a brass service to doing my own annealing. My recent goal is to stop tripping over mouse turds....but the Bergers are still get pointed....but they are on the target list!
Oh....a recent process I added is to sand the necks just prior to powder.....they sure look nice!

I used to "uniform" primer pockets>>>No longer. I used to spend inordinate amounts of time "prepping" bullets. Now I buy bullets where I can simply pull them out of a box and load them! Pointing, Base-to-ogive sorting, length sorting etc..etc.. FORGET IT! Just buy 6mm 108s>>Now maybe 110 SMKs too, 6.5 140LRBTs>>Maybe 150 SMKs and make life easier!!

Stop neck sizing about 10 years ago. I use to believe the myth that neck sizing prolonged case life and improved accuracy.

After 10 years of full sizing with a .001 to .002" shoulder bump I can say for certain that case life has not been reduce or has accuracy been reduced by full sizing but most importantly my reloads chamber without any problems, an important consideration for hunter.

Switched from Hornady One Shot lube to Imperial sizing wax for case lube about four years ago. Imperial is perfect for me. I'm still on the same can I purchased four years ago and I reload about a thousand rifle rounds a year. Applied correctly you'll never experience a stuck case and its considerably cheaper that One Shot.
