What loading process do you no longer do?

Short range benchrest score shooting (UBR).
I don't clean or uniform primer pockets.
I might anneal once a year or so.
I don't use a concentricity gauge.
I don't clean the inside of necks.
I do practice over wind flags as much as possible.
One missed condition cancels out all that other noise.

Same with prairie dog rounds. Stuff 'em full of powder and go shoot. I shoot roughly 7000 rounds per year, maybe a few more.

I have a lot of rifles, and way more sporters than anything else... My built, match rifles are the only ones that interest me or I have time for anymore.

Competing is like a drug. I'm fully addicted, and when I'm not working my mind goes to it automatically.

I know what you mean.

That is how I was with long range hunting and long range shooting.

My current needs are farm pest management. I can not tell you how amazing hunting at night is. Maximum accuracy is not needed nor is it available with lasers and thermal scopes. I like the old saying "The night time is the right time." While I have never liked the sun to shine on me. I am very excited for night. My neighbor called and said he had a few raccoons he wanted to go away. I drove over and walked up his drive way. I went 25 for 23 kills. I love night hunting. For the record raccoons do not burn very well. It takes one hell of a fire to burn them down.

My last post reminded me of one reloading step I no longer do.

While hunting I have stopped caring where my brass goes. So I try to use older brass so I can skip the whole reloading process.

I came here 7 yrs ago to read about reloading practices, and rarely offer advice on reloading here. This is good stuff. I still neck size after 1 firing, not sure out of laziness on setting die up, or want brass all chamber length before bumping the shoulders.

Loading 308 for F-tr:
Stopped polishing brass in tumbler, I now wash using Dawn soap and Lemi-shine for 20-30 min.
Stopped trimming case length. Chambered with .020" longer neck using the U.S. F-tr team reamer specs.
Stopped checking concentricity. Now use Wilson bullet seater die.

My list could be long, so I will just start with a few.
- weighing anything besides powder
- trying to get my bullet concentricity under .003”
- annealing after every firing
Ben
stopped loading different bullet weights for different distances
stopped thinking my brass was okay.....check, check and recheck and anneal

Hopefully, I wont be weighing no more powder after the first charge setting ( Thanks Adam) and the FX120 setup. I think I am really going to LIKE that....

stopped : double weighing every powder charge, i'm happy gem pro does the job.

but for the 2 i stopped i found about 10 more anal things to start doing.

Did I fail to mention that there's only 2 of us in the country, world for that matter that can move or bump a shoulder. I have ways to measure datums, and datum lines within datum lines. I'll have your heads exploding as you try comprehend it.

Please don't encourage him . I'm a member of other firearm forums . I've not been here long but that quote above tells me who that other person is . If Goofy is a member here I'm surprised I've not seen him here yet .

Giving up everything. Got to sell a lot of unused equipment and quite a few unused rifles and pistols. Doc says to do it soon but I can't get myself to make a list. Oh well, coming soon...............
