what length bbl - opinions/

I am considering a KI precision bbl for nrl/prs wondering what you all think what most guys are using 20-22 mtu or full 1,220 Will be using S-K standard plus. My thought is 20 full 1.220 in a Bergara b-14 all opinions welcome thanks in advance

I have the same setup, B14r with the KI Precision setup for Precision Rimfire.


Mine is a 1.250 straight taper at 22”

I have it in an MDT ACC Premier gen 1

I have one set of internal weights all the way forward and one set of external weights all the way forward. The rifle balances abut 2” in front of the mag well.

I love the balance and feel of the rifle setup this way, if I was going from scratch I MIGHT go to 24” but then it gets longer and heavier than I like.


With a 4-32 NX 8 and MPA scope mount the whole thing weighs in at 20lbs

If you’ve got the room go to the 1.250 and go to 22”


Most NRL/PRS shooters are in the 22-24 range.

My new(ish) 457 Varmint MTR has a 20" barrel. It shoots quite well but is a bit picky on ammo. My other target 22's have 26" barrels and are far less picky. Cause and effect? Can't say but I kind of wish the 457 had a longer barrel....

Stay away from the 20in barrel, you will ultimately have to make the rifle 2/3lbs heavier than if you run a 24x1.2...the additional weight fully forward replaces alot of chassis weight further back.
