I'd love to be able to shoot on my property. It would make load development so much more convenient. Here lately load development has become a chore that I just don't look forward to anymore. Packing everything up, driving to the range, waiting for a bay on busy days, etc. is a hassle. My next big purchase will be land.My favorite part of the reloading room is the whole thing. I took 1/2 of a bay in my 3-bay shop and made it my mancave. It's only 12' X 12' and tight but it is "my space" where I spend probably 75 to 80 % of my time awake. The fact that I can take about 10 steps and be in my still under construction 12' x 20' shooting room behind the shop makes it even handier. Very easy to work up loads while testing as well. I only have 100 yds. here at my hole in the woods to shoot but all in all it beats having to load up every time I want to go shoot and no range fees to contend with either. I feel blessed to have it no doubt.
Yeah right.Dont tell Lee this!!
The view.
And the fact that I can test any changes in a matter of minutes.View attachment 1524646
Bill Forrester(HOF'er) use to travel to matches all over in a van, loading inside.I like the idea of loading at the range. But having to set it all up only to have to take it back down isn't worth it.
Therefore I have an idea....
I can build a loading room in the back of a van. Easy to do and it's always with me.
That's more bullets than I fired in my lifetime.I lay awake at night and think of the multitude of options.
They are all in an Access database by lot number. A load entry form lets me choose by lot number on all components and create a record for a given batch of brass when I load them. The database in the mid 90's replaced a notebook that was started in the early 80's. Reloading isn't for everyone but it has been one of my favorite hobbies for many years.

I just retired last summer and have my own range. Between that, feeding prairie dogs and coyotes these might last me the rest of my life. But I do like options. That's more bullets than I fired in my lifetime.
He used to shoot at the range my picture was taken.Bill Forrester(HOF'er) use to travel to matches all over in a van, loading inside.
Better take out an insurance policy on that H4198.I like looking at all the boxes of loaded rounds I have on the shelves and in the ammo boxes on the floor. It’s like money in the bank. I’ll do a mental inventory of the components I have put up and all I can do is smile!
Then I look at my lonely 4 pounds of H4198 and cringe! I got caught on that one!
