Does anybody else know this manufacturer / tuner ? Is 38 Super Comp really that big a deal ? A 2nd barrel, I'm guessing.

You can not convince me that, that gun shoot better than a $5K pistol.. And if it does there is no way in hell it shoots 10K better.

14k for a pistol is silly for someone on my budget but 14k to some budgets isn't much so if you want to build pistols for the top .5% of shooters you better have a hell of a marketing plan. That being said some of those Gucci builders pull it off. If you really want to watch your budget get decimated take a look a top tier shotguns… 14k won’t go far at all..

McLearn is a premium custom 2011 builder. While this does seem to be a bit hopeful in pricing not unusual to see ~$10K for a custom open gun nowadays. Based on the pic and where the thumb rest is this is a lefties version so going to be an extremely limited buyers pool to command that $$$..

Looking at the GB ad this has a complete top end assembly (barrel/slide/comp) not just barrel for the 2nd caliber so that will command higher pricing.. Mclearn’s full retail for that configuration is $14,500.00. I’m glad I still have my custom built open 9mm I purchased 12yrs ago @$3k!!

My whole body isn't worth $150,000 never mind just the wrist where I wear my watch.

Like you say I am super happy for anyone that can afford a super tuned 2011 in 2 calibers.

Kinda like some of the benchrest guys spending $10K on a rifle. Putting a lot of money into any gun is a personal preference gun and may get you shooting better but you can't expect everyone else to agree with you. I'm seeing more and more $5K handguns on the range!
