What height rings for tikka t3

Question for the tikka t3 shooters. I have a tikka forest on the way and plan on putting one of the Leica er5 2-10 x 50mm scopes on it. I plan on putting talley ring mounts on it. Can I get away with using low rings with the 50mm scope or do I need mediums? I want it as close to the barrel as possible. I thought someone on here is surely using a 50mm scope on their tikka.
Thanks!

From the shooting position that you will use the most, close your eyes and bring the rifle into a no neck stress or strain, relaxed and comfortable shooting position. Then open your eyes.... That eye height is the optimal height to mount your scope, and to what ring height to use.

"I want it as close to the barrel as possible" is very often not the optimal position (especially for taller people). To low or to high of a head position creates neck strain/stress, that puts heart beat into the equation very quickly when trying to relax and control breathing to take a shot, limiting the time one has to take a well aimed shot.

I don’t know what height of Talley’s you need for that exact combo, but usually low Talley lightweights are like most other brands mediums.

Just did a Tikka with a 56mm front bell and I used Talley tall. This left just enough room the NightForce rubber bikini cover to be installed and removed easily. Mediums should work just fine for a 50mm like yours.

I just put a set of medium Talley's on a Tikka T3 Lite 50mm Nightforce have plenty of clearance between scope Bell and Barrel. Low's probably want work with a 50mm scope
