Did they fade away?
Hopefully.Did they fade away?
Note to ISS: newer brings NEW shooters into our hobby keeping the industry strong. I don’t buy the new stuff but I’m happy for the ones that do.Note to AndyA: newer does not always mean better, most of the time it is just to boost rifle sales.

If you look at capabilities there are many cartridges that perform about the same. Like someone else said new cartridges are only to stimulate sales. Kind of like they change car styles every year. If they made the same style car 5 years in a row sales would go way down.I’m curious as to why a new shooter would be attracted to a new cartridge rather than a well tested one that has stood the test of time?
New shooter=Newest toys .I’m curious as to why a new shooter would be attracted to a new cartridge rather than a well tested one that has stood the test of time?

Not necessarily true for the European market or the trucking industry in the US.If they made the same style car 5 years in a row sales would go way down.
A 308 or 30-06 will cover anything you hunt in North America.Note to AndyA: newer does not always mean better, most of the time it is just to boost rifle sales.
Same thing.I disagree that new cartridges attract new shooters to the game. I believe that a newer shooter is simply more susceptible to the marketing gimmicks, because they don’t know any better.
