Wouldn't that be basically a 300 Lapua?I feel as if the 300 RUM should have been designed with a Lapua case head.
Yes. I owned one. It was nicknamedWouldn't that be basically a 300 Lapua?
Or maybe neck down the 338 Lapua.
They gotta be really close in case capacity.

Sorry i know better than that. I shoot benchrest and i know what it takes to shoot well and consistently, you would get your ass handed to you. The rifle shoots well but its a hunting rig and no more.
how it compares to the edge ?The PRC does fix the issue the 300 WM has with factory rifles and ammo using longer, heavy modern bullets; both in the twist rate and freebore that is ideal and doesn’t eat up the case capacity. Sure you can build a 300WM that has a custom chamber and different twist than what is SAAMI for the 300WM, but a minority of people have custom rifles built. It’s also nice to ditch the belt.
Wasn’t the idea behind the rebated rim on the RUM so it could be used with Remington’s standard Magnum Bolt Face.?I feel as if the 300 RUM should have been designed with a Lapua case head.
Obviously, you have never come face to face with the wrath of 4x8' sheet of AR500.Wasn’t the idea behind the rebated rim on the RUM so it could be used with Remington’s standard Magnum Bolt Face.?
I was reading on critique of the cartridge where the writer stated that many African hunters had doubts because of possible feeding problems with the bolt missing the rebated rim.
I would think that would be a non issue with a ELR steel hitter.

It's a horrible experience!

The WSM cases and saum cases are rebated a similar amount and they feed well.Wasn’t the idea behind the rebated rim on the RUM so it could be used with Remington’s standard Magnum Bolt Face.?

My biggest target for ELR is 28”x 28”Obviously, you have never come face to face with the wrath of 4x8' sheet of AR500.

Like “Mark And Sam After Work”. They use a 24”x24” target at all ranges out to around 5000 yards. My biggest target for ELR is 28”x 28”
Those giant targets are silly in my opinion.

Actually I did laugh!Come on guys, @shoot4fun made a good joke.
Just enjoy a good laugh.
Hence why I’m going with a much larger with larger tenon for my 37XC (with lapua boltface) project and why I went with 338 edge in a rem 700 sized action.Jim Borden take on 338 RUM vs 338 Lapua
