I recently took delivery of two A&D balances. One is a brand new FX-120i purchased from CE (earmarked for my incoming ATV4).
I also snagged a used (though it appears brand new) FX-300iN off eBay. The original plan was a ST for this, but I think it will sit and wait for the IP system (I actually have a 3rd FX and a ST enroute!). Yeah I went on a bit of a tear but that’s life. I guess I’ll have three scales/systems (eventually).
I got the two set up side by side on my bench last night and I was playing around with them. They weigh the same weight either exactly identical or within .02gn of each other (both calibrated with the same 100g weight). Pretty good because that could easily be down to environmental factors.
The FX-300iN required a little extra programming to take it out of NTEP mode but easy peasy. Here they are…

I’ve ordered an antistatic mat from Amazon to put under them. I’ve seen people put other things under these balances too, such as granite slabs and other platforms. My bench is quite sturdy, no vibrations, and it’s on a basement concrete floor. Not 100% micrometer certified even and level, but the scales are leveled nicely and operating as they should.
I’m just looking for any suggestions, recommendations, or examples of what others have done to support these delicate instruments!
Pics are great.
