What do you carry?

You can never have too much power..
True I suppose ... with caveats: As long as the shootist can handle the recoil and score effectively; as long as the bullets don't pass through; and as long as the gun can be carried in all circumstances (openly or concealed.)

When I carry mostly carry a sw 642 38spl but when I think I might need a little more offense I carry a glock 41 45acp

Glock 43x; Taurus Poly .357 mag; Bond .45 Colt derringer. Kinda want to get the little Glock 42 as I want a smaller semi than my 43x…but may just get the 43. Not sure that I will feel confident with little .380.

You ought to go watch a couple of Chris Baker's short videos over at LuckyGunner, I recall him discussing 380 for defense, and the 42 as well. If you can't find any, let me know. (Transcripts are there for reading, too.) But the 380 is no toy, it's quite lethal, "it just depends ... " as always.

If it's stuffed inside my pants, I don't believe it's polite to talk about it in mixed company. But it's you guys so M&P .40cal.

Is a G43 small enough to pocket holster in front jeans pocket? Thanks.
It depends on how big your jeans are!?!
I have a 43X and it fits in my pocket but it won’t come back out quickly. It’s kinda snug. I wear a 36 waist. Do bigger jeans have bigger pockets? I think the 43X has a longer grip than the 43.

What I carry depends on what I’m doing. Gratefully I live in an open carry state, Arizona. When out in the woods I typically have my G19 or G20 with me in a Kenai chest rig which by far the most comfortable way to carry I’ve ever tried. Pretty vanilla choices but I like them and have had them for years, both are stock with the exception of Johnny Glock triggers and Trijicon night sights. I use to carry on the hip, and abdomen both inside and out which I didn’t like much, I still do it when I have too. I just sold an Sig P938 that was my inside waist ban carry pistol for many years, micro 9mm and amazingly accurate for what it was and so small and light you would practically forget about it, I just wanted more than 6+1, personal preference. I replaced the 938 with 365 macro comp, I’m enjoying the 365, how they get 15 rounds in that mag I’ll never know. I have a couple shoulder rigs I like if I’m wearing a jacket too and a variety of outside the waistband rigs if that’s what I’m doing. Motorcycling from state to state gets tricky with the gun laws. As fun as this thread is it would be interesting to hear what people are using for holsters or whatever it may be to carry their preferred firearm. You might be using something others would like to try if they aren’t happy with what they have now.

Favorite carry rigs are Kenai chest rig for outside activities where concealment does really matter.

Favorite holsters iutside the waist band made by Milt Sparks, you can’t wear them out, extreme quality.

Favorite inside the waist band.. hidden hybrid holsters. Also a great product.

What is your favorite concealed carry piece, and what cal.????
S&W Shield 9 7 or 8 shot mag in 9mm.

Why? Because it is light weight, thin, and utterly reliable. Oh and it was $249 out the door from Cabela with the California approved safety. Not only do I own one but I got one for my oldest son as his first concealed carry piece. I think he was 19 when I got him one and did a proper transfer.

He has over a 1000 rounds through his and it has yet to malfunction or show signs of wear. I use Mobil-1 0W40 European Formula on mine but he uses US Army LSA on his. He has owned many far more expensive plastic fantastics but even at the $2000 level he has nothing really bad to say about the S&W Shield 9.

You do not always get more when you pay more! Even though I am 6'1" and built like an NFL Lineman and have concealed carried a Ruger Super RedHawk with 9.5" barrel easily I do not like that sort of weight and bulk. I think that anything more than a derringer and less than a Ruger Super RedHawk is the ideal. Anything better than a sharp stick is a FANTASTIC! LOL

I lived through the 1970's, 1980's, 1990's and am 23 years into the 2000's and you would be stupid to carry a full size handgun if your not a LEO and your not in the Military in a war zone! Not saying a war has to have been declared were you are serving clearly if you are in Africa, Syria, Ukraine a big as handgun with lots of ammo is a huge plus! On the other hand if your in downtown Detroit 7 rounds + one in the pipe and a reload or two is more than enough!
