What do you carry?

Yes it was around June of 1995 that the USP 45 came out because I bought one. The USP 40 was the first USP pistol to come out and I bought that one in December of 94.

That sounds correct. I didn't have the 40, but had two 45's. As with many new guns they didn't have a holster. I stopped at several other shops o the way home and nothing. Get home drag out three boxes of holster and nothing worked. Spent another week searching and pecking around, nothing. Pick the closest holster I had and went to work on it until I was happy with the new carry rig, by that time about 10 days later had put about 2K rounds through the first one and it fed everything, was on the accurate side and smooth operating. It was my full size carry gun for several years.

When going incognito ; I have a Makarov P-64 , 9 x 18mm . The old Soviet issue for Diplomats and KGB Officers . Works nicely with the Russian +P ammo . When I'm Open Carrying , A Glock G22 -.40cal . with 180gr. Truncated Hollow Points .

Added a Wilson Combat SFX9 to the rotation a few weeks ago. Carries 10+1 or 15+1 with an optional 18 rounder available. Carries nicely in my Milt Sparks VM2 IWB rig meant for the 3" 1911. The grip circumference is less than a single stack 1911. No grip safety, and the upper is entirely 1911. So far, shoots lights out.

Target below was first rounds fired, Hornady 124gr XTP SD HP's at 15 yards:

Appears to be a keeper.

A S&W M36 J frame. Front left pocket. If I need more firepower a SIG P226 or a CZ75B.

What is your favorite concealed carry piece, and what cal.????
S&W Shield 9. It is thin, light weight, accurate and always goes bang.

I am 6 foot 2 my oldest sun is 6 foot 4 and my wife is 5 foot 2. All of us can get a good purchase on the grip.

It is so think I can wear it with shorts and a t-shirt and not have print.

It only holds 7 or 8 rounds which is why it is so thin. It is also light for the same reason so it does not make your pants want to come down like a tool built.

It is light enough I do not mind carrying it everywhere I go.

I carry 1 extra magazine with me. If 18 rounds is not enough to save my life than chances are nothing short of a full tactical combat loadout would have saved my life and that is not practical in civilian life.

Not going to walk around covered in breaching munitions, side arm, M4, sub gun, hand grenades, nods as a civilian just in case. EDC is about KISS and always having it with you. Do not over think things.

Even a 2 shot Derringer is fantastic compared to not having anything!

Not readily concealed but my favorite is a Glock 27 in 40. Always go bang & I don't care what the experts say, the 40 is superior to a 9 any day with my life on the line.
The 40 S&W is indeed far superior, IMO. That said, I prefer the Walther PPQ (no longer produced in .40) to all other mfrs except maybe HK. I sold all 9’s and gave my 9 ammo to my uncle.
