What do you carry?

I live in Delaware, regrettably a few miles from Mr. Biden so I guess I'll say a Shotgun😜😇 I hate the way it makes my pants look. Maybe it's time to bring back wearing a cowboy hip holster?

For me its S&W 638 .38+p (inside the pants) air weight, hammerless with Glaser Safety Slugs!! On the hip.. Colt Defender in .45 ACP with some really nasty aluminum bullets. Hope I only use these to Blow Up some 1 gallon water jugs.

I rarely leave the compound, but when I do I usually carry "old school". I have a .380 colt m1908 that is 102 years old this year that I like real well. Sometimes a Colt M 1911 that is 97 this year. They both feel like real guns. I bought my wife a Springfield XD9 last year. I have been shooting this some and have carried it a couple times, doesn't feel as solid as the colts. :-\ I also have a little turn of the century FN Brownie in 25 acp that is a nifty pocket carry. My truck gun is a M1873 Colt SA in .45LC with a 7 1/2" barrel, tremendous gun left over from my cowboy action days. Most importantly, I shoot all of these regularly. No sense in carrying a gun you're not familiar with.
I have shot some of my friends carry guns, the little ones that kick like bloody hell. Don't like 'em. Those that carry them don't shoot them and generally don't shoot them well. I shot a Springfield the other day I like real well. It's the little bitty plastic one in .45 ACP, I think it carries 5 and one in the pipe. I expected it to be painfull, but it was very pleasant to shoot. Might be one in my future.

Okay, everyone has at least one favorite carry pistol.
In the north we have a problem with accessibility. One has to be warm and that means bulky clothing. What do you wear when the frost is on the pumpkin or when the snow is up to your muzzle?
I have been contemplating buying a Berne Echo One Zero jacket or Berne Echo One One coat. Anyone ever seen or used one of these? You wear your piece on your belt and when you need to go for it, you just pull the top of the pocket right down and reach right in and get your pistol. Their demo shows a guy drawing his and it seems to be quite quick.

Up north I took to wearing a standard long sleeve shirt covered by a woolrich wool vest. Multiple styles and most cover a behind the hip inside pants carry, even a G22...not that I ever carry anything but stones...

Winter time is an easier carry than summer for me. I carry a shoulder holster an a M1911 under what ever winter coat I'm wearing. A vest of some kind under the coat works out well too. I'm not overly concerned about 100% concealed carry either. If I show a little barrel in the summer no biggie. 99% of people never notice.

I just ordered a sneaky Pete holster. It looks like a cell phone case. I hope it works as good as it looks

30 years ago, I liked winter the most cause I could carry an 8 3/8 S&W 44 Mag in a shoulder holster under my down jacket. It had a little to do with a movie I saw. 😎I could hit a 6 in. Target at a hundred feet, every time with that gun. Wish my eyes were that good, now.

SW 36 5 shot at times
Walter .380 at times

If I think the Area is Wild or Mountain Country
SW 657 41 Mag. 4"

P320 Compact. Hornady 9mm+P 135 grain Critical Duty.
In the woods (location dependent) Smith and Wesson Mountain Gun 44 Mag. It's just more fun :)

Last week I went looking for a Glock 43x, per suggestions here. They had a Sig 365 too. Decisions, decisions. Then I spied a lightly used Glock 27. Being a 40 fan with tons of ammo for it, I brought it home. Guy on the counter said: “Oh, that one kicks hard.” Shot it yesterday to test some loads. Not bad at all. Thinking of going back for the Sig. It felt good in my hand.

I have a P365. Like you said, it feels real good in the hand. And it sure does carry nice. But for me it is just too small. Mag changes and manipulating the slide is difficult. A bigger gun is much easier for me.

Likewise, my daughter-in-law has a Ruger LCP 380 and loves it. I got one for those times when I can't carry a gun :) man it's tiny. I would much rather (and do) carry a J-frame 38 special instead.
