What did you kill this fall, and what did you use?

Personally I killed a mule deer in Wyoming and a whitetail in Mich. In Wyoming I used my Brux barreled 96 Swede 6.5x55 and 120 gr nosler Bt's. In Michigan I used my 94 Swede 6.5x55 with 160 gr Hornady rn's. I had a metric year. Barlow

A large doe and a nice sized 8 point. I got them both with a ar using the 65g sgk. First time I hunted with a 22 caliber for deer. I must say that little bullet did very well. The doe was about 40-45 yards and the buck was 70 yards away. They both were hit and drt.

A bunch-a squirrels.

no shotgun

Me too, but not a bunch though. The little buggars are hard to find in my neck of the woods this year and the ones I do see are jumpy as all get out.

I use a 221 Fireball, (legal in Pa.), and obviously head shots only.

As a side note though my lovely wife of 40 years took a nice 5pt. whitetail, her first with her new crossbow. She has killed a passel of whitetails with her compound bow but this is the first year she hunted with a crossbow.

188 yards. Went 10 yards after that 165 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip did it's job behind the shoulder and out farther back. OLD 30-06 carbine.

Shot a 8 point with my factory Remington 700 CDL .270. Used hand loaded Nosler 130 grn accubond.
Spun around and dropped dead. Found the projectile in the opposite shoulder.

5x5 Bull elk using my custom 338-375 Ruger with 250gr Berger Elite Hunter bullets at 2900 fps. One shot kill at 311 yards. Had to pack him out 4.5 miles on our backs. Definitely put in work for that son of a gun.

Two pronghorn antelope. Both about 200 yards. Shot both with my custom 6.5 Rem Mag using 140gr Berger Hunting VLDs at 3210 fps. First was a high shoulder shot as it was trotting away. Dropped dead instantly. Ruined a little bit of good meat on the first antelope and didnt want to do that again. I had a good shot the next one, took careful aim, and shot her in the side of the head. Plop!

Freezer has over 200 lbs of meat in it now :)

Had a whitetail doe tag, but didn't shoot it cuz I already had a ton of meat. Hunted bucks a couple days and passed on 5 bucks all ranging from 120-140 B&C 4x4's and a bunch of little spikes and forkies. Figured with all the meat in the freezer, it would have to be a monster for me to shoot it. Never saw a big one so I didn't kill a buck either.

Minding business one morning, drinking coffee on the loading dock.Needed to be in Richmond Va,cpl hours drive that afternoon.Got tons of shop work to do that day.

There's a 4 pointer standing in Fr of the 100 yd berm.Cool, sit here watching him, sipping on my coffee.

Uh oh,dang it....he's been wounded. It was a really hard decision that, even though I had way to much going on that day.Had to put him down.Grabbed a TC muzzle loader, took the top off his heart @95 yds.

We ground up everything as sausage except the tenderloins.

OMG, The hunting world is coming to an end. A deer killed with an AR. Oh woe is me. Unleash the hounds. Please send this to the PA game commission. They're still living in the 1940s. o_O

Seriously though, great shots with your AR. Plenty of good eating there. :D

Opening day of deer season in Illinois downed a 10 point buck weighing a bit over 200 pounds using an Ithaca Deerslayer 12 gauge topped with a Leupold 2x7 shotgun scope. Have used this rig to harvest deer every year for the last 23 years.

I took a 6.5 saum out west and killed my first public land antelope buck at 610 yds, dropped dead right there. I only had 1 day in that unit to fill my buck tag so I wasn't picky, lol. My fiance dropped one at 725 yards. After she dropped hers the herd didn't run off due to the suppressor so I smoked a doe at 670. The next morning I got a doe at 1200 yards. I also handed my rifle to one of my buddy's with us on the trip and he smoked one at 750 yards. That 6.5 saum is a little laser and leaves baseball size exit holes with 140 hybrids. To top the trip off she said yes when I proposed. Now we're moving into the new house and dealing with getting the new shop up within the next couple weeks. Gonna get some CNC equipment in there. Should bring my lead times on full custom rifles to 8 weeks or less since I have all the parts instock.

Rifle Specs:
Stiller Tac 30
24" brux rem varm in 6.5 SAUM 4S with 140 hybrids at 3050 fps
Manners EH1A folding stock with dbm chassis
jewell trigger
TBAC Ultra 7 suppressor
Vortex Gen II 4.5-27 razor

First load i tried in the gun shot 1/4 moa at 300 yds just bolting it into the chassis.

Great shooting Ryan. Good luck with the next life chapter and your new shop setup. May you have many little shooters. :)
