What chambering for mag fed .338 (ELR)?

We shoot a match on paper at 2000 yards. One thing I have noticed is the huge difference in vertical dispersion between cartridges that are still super sonic and those that are trans sonic. I know there are ways to deal with that, but if its possible I will always shoot a cartridge that stays super sonic to the target.

I don't think I can fit a cartridge that stays supersonic at 2,500 in the action.

I know I can't fit it in the magazine.

My goal is to have a 250+ grain lead core bullet load that fits in the magazine and shoots well at 1,000 yards to maybe a mile and single load a copper solid for 2,000+ yard shooting.

The ELR loading shouldn't be supersonic at 2,500 or at least I think that is really optimistic with the amount of powder I can burn.

The reason for a 338 is to get more visible splash on target, not fantastic BCs or velocity.

It's scaling up to a mini big boomer. Hopefully I'll find a brake that isn't too obnoxious. A friend of mine has an Armalite brake on his 338 LM and while it isn't quite the disturbance of a tank braked .50 BMG, its muzzle blast seems sharper. I really wish suppressors were legal here, it would be the first piece on my shopping list so that it would be waiting for me before the first firing.

My action and chassis only take a CIP length 3.85" magazine.

I got an MDT 338 LM magazine second so I have something to play around with.

I'm not committed to cases that fit that magazine, I can cut out the rib if I have to but it will be better than an empty magazine well.
