What bullet would a rancher like?

So, to be clear, you're looking for a good bullet that will work on everything from a 2 lb prairie dogs to deer and cows? Not sure how big the deer are, but anything big enough for deer are likely to ricochet on prairie dogs.

I loaded up 100 rounds of Hornady 2266- 55gr btsp. Several 5 shot groups on different days stayed under 1" at 100 yards in 3 different rifles. Going to order 4-500 more.

I've used/ have Sierra 65 gks...hard to find in stores

I haven't looked for any in some years. I bought 1000 during the last big drought. I always keep a 20 round PMag loaded with these.

Just to be different, a Sierra 65 grain GameKing. I bought many years back and they are accurate and effective. They aren't MatchKing accurate in my many rifles but still very good even to 300 yards. You can push them pretty fast too.

I read your post after I had posted. The bullet I mentioned does work in a 1-9 twist.

Some guys I know who post on another well known site use this bullet for deer and experience very good success with it.
