What bullet weight??

What would be the minimum bullet weight would you use when shooting out to 1000yds, from a standard 7mm/284 case, 22" barrel, with lots of squirrley winds to deal with?

Tia,

May I ask sir, why a 22" bbl? If it is already what you have, not sure, but either Berger 180 variants, or the SIERRA 175. If your in the planning stages, go for at least a 30 inch bbl to take advantage of slower burning powders.

+1 for the 30 inch barrel. Crazy speed with thw berger 168 and 180's when pushed by rl17. Will drift and drop like a 338lm. Shehane chamber only sweetens the deal.

Froggy 12,

First off, Please don't call me "SIR", I used to work for a living,
but I am now retired and just starting to feel free. ;D

Start laughing now and get it over with,
this is on my Rem 700 SA SP pistol, ::)
22" long by 1.200" diameter, full length,
SS barrel.

I have not figured out the throating yet,
having a hard time getting bullets in the proper weights I want to test,
and set the throat length for etc.

I like doing things the Hard way, LOL.

Tia,
Don
