What are you toting for coyotes?

If you hot the wrong idea, I do have the red misters. Like this, the 6.5x06 with 85 JHP that will red mist a wood chuck.
But for yotes I like a round with a bullet that stays in the cayote. Goes through one side, blows up and does not go flying into the next county. The 80 grain Remington SP bullet is notorious for blowing up, so I use them for 6mm bullet weight with little penetration. They just kill.

This is the 6mm Mngoose, blown out 223, 40 degree shoulder, shortened .050 to handle 95 and 100s in the AR-15 mag. That is an 80 grain Rem, at 3,000 that does kill with one shot. H2o is 31-32 grains. Handy in a light AR.

First coyote I ever killed was with this. Only rifle I owned. Lotta' sewing on that one!
The other year, I kept getting a family of 4 coyotes every morning at 7am on a gasline on one of my game cameras.
Took the Ruger 77 MKII in 257 Roberts out and set up in the bottom of a pine tree 200 yards away.
Thought I had grabbed the 90gr BlitzKing ammo.
Turns out I accidentally grabbed the 100gr Ballistic Tip ammo. Oops!!

At 200 yards hit mom frontal in the neck. Bullet continued down the spine, splitting the hide, and blew out the back hips and kept on going.
What a mess!!!

First pup down with a shoulder shot.

Other 2 pups ran off, up the hill and stopped at 400 yards. Another shoulder shot brought the 2nd pup down.
Last one ran off through the woods.

When I say shoulder shot, that's through both shoulders.

If I'm planning on hunting coyotes with the 7mm's, then I run 100gr Sierra HP Varmint.
If I'm bear or deer hunting, welllll....
