What I see isn't the 9 so much as the big majority of shots playing with fire on the low side and nothing above the middle of the bull.Is that a "9" up there you can barely see???
C'mon Todd.
P.S. who made the neat podium?
Guy is kind of new to RFBR, I’m trying not to pile on.What I see isn't the 9 so much as the big majority of shots playing with fire on the low side and nothing above the middle of the bull.
Very nice looking rifle and rest. What's the black "bridge" across the rest? Bungee tie maybe? Carry handle?..yessa yessa that’s a 9 i was struggling on that target yesterday… I really need VLNBYR to come over to Fresno and give me some lessons!
A gentleman or should say a real craftsman John at our club made that black striped cherry ammo block for me. So I liked it so much I had to find some large pieces of black striped cherry for my stock which isn’t easy to come by and then had Randy Owens do his magic!

Ignition in cf is huge. Probably the most important part of the rifle in my opinion. Yes, shapes, mass, spring, and fall has been played with for a long time now. Long before my time in the sport. It just was not discussed much. Now its importance is much better known today but you will still read comments like bullets and barrels is all that matters. Many still think the action doesnt have a role in accuracy. I dont have any opinions about ignitions in rf because I have not done any experimenting there. But since the actions are so short, the firing pins will be a lot lighter than in a standard length cf action. I can see how it would be difficult to get really good ignition with such small firing pins and short springs. You may have explained to me why I never did particularly well in centerfire benchrest. I simply bought primers, cleaned the pockets, and seated the primers and worked on my loads. If there was more to ignition (firing the round) than that, I missed it.
I don't want to start an argument here but rimfire ignition is more like flint locks and centerfire ignition is more like caps.
If you guys are now worrying about firing pin shapes, and firing pin weights and firing pin travel, and firing pin strike locations you aren't any better off than we are.
Since this isn't a centerfire thread I'll stop here and make my inquiries about centerfire ignition over on the centerfire threads.
Thanks for cluing me in.

The real secret is there is no secret. I have found it's more about people not listening than not being told.Never tell anyone the secret to your success.
If you do, people will try to do the same and if they fail to succeed, they will blame you and accuse you of not telling them the truth.
