what 105-110 grain 6mm bulet seems to be the easiest to tune?

I have limited time to work up a load for a 243AI and my first try with the Berger 105 hunting VLD hasn't worked out so far. What bullet have you found that has been easy to work up a load for?

Thanks,
Glenn

My long throated 6BR pushes 105-108s at around 2900 fps in a 1-8" barrel, and at that velocity I've found that the Sierra 107 HPBT, the Berger 108 BT Target & the Berger 105 Hybrid all stabilize & shoot fine. I don't have any experience with the Berger hunting range.

We are having good experiences withe the Sierra 107. However, you mention trying a hunting flavor so that particular Sierra may not be your best bet.

And the 105 VLD hunting has been a walk in the park in my Dashers...

There is no doubt that certain barrels like certain bullets. I'd suggest the Berger 108 or the Sierra 107.

I jammed the 105 VLD-H .010 to test in my 6SLR and it shot well enough that I never bothered to test otherwise, and with reasonable neck engagement (and I have plenty) you can't feel or tell that they are jammed.

I'm running them at 3075 out of my 6SLR

Now that you have the chance, try .015 and .020 in. If not better try .005 in. 3 shot volleys is fine if benchrest quality platform for the decision.

I personally don't shoot anything between 10 in and 10 out. To much opportunity for seating error to make things wonky. Mine shoot well enough for me where they are. I don't really like doing load work. I do too much for my F-TR rifles

Looking for a hunting bullet!

Well the VLD is seating depth sensitive. If you dont want to jam them and you are looking for.mag length then do the berger seating depth test. It does work.

The hybrid hunter is much more.forgiving on seating depth but i run the seating depth test on them too.

I do trim the meplate slightly on my berger hunters just to ensure that the tips are open
