Well, RL22 has gone missing in action

EXCEPT for Gun Broker - - along with a lot of other powders. But, still trying to find a way to begin reloading my 7mm Mag. Got the dies, the brass, primers... but no powder.

If you load 7mm Rem Mag - what top 3 powders would you use (in order please). Maybe I can find a powder using that method.

Thanks!

ADDED: I forgot people can't read my mind any better than i can read others, so, Mostly will be loading 120gr ttsx , 140 TSX and sierra 150 GK

Thanks again!

I don't own a 7mm Rem but have a 7mm Weatherby, similar rounds. I believe you could load decent ammo with any powder on the burn rate chart between IMR 4350 and Retumbo depending on bullet weight. Norma MRP is my favorite in the 7mm Wea with 145-175 gr bullets. JMO

All i have ever loaded for my 7 rem mag is 150 grain bullets so far. I use mostly imr 7828, that load shot very well right away. Re 22 also worked well but i have never bothered to experment with it alot. Any 4350 or 4831 should work as well but i have not treid it yet.
Where are you located?

You wouldn't be going wrong with either IMR or Hodgdon, Hell they're under the same umbrella now! 4350 or 4831. Whatever you can find, you can come up w/a good load with either of these powders

A good friend many years ago loaded his .270s with everything he could get into the case with 130grain bullets of 4831 (IMR) and I can say for sure I've seen some good shots. He was very good and had exellent eyesight

You might try rl23 & rl26

All I shoot in my 7 mm Rem Mag are, coincidentally, Barnes 120 TTSX and 140 TTSX. I use RL22 as well. I tried a bunch of other powders but none came close in two different rifles. I think the next best one was IMR 7977 at around .728" and next best after that was Hunter. Those lead-free Barnes are VERY accurate - but very powder picky. I tried no less than 8 powders to find the magic - being RL22 - which shot best with the Barnes in both guns. I'd keep looking for RL22 for those bullets. I used to use IMR 4064 when shooting 150 Ballistic Tips and Win. 760 when shooting Hornady 120 H.P.. Both of these were VERY accurate combos as well. Good luck!

Vitavuori 160.

I switched my 7mm mags from Red 22 to 160. Rarely use the rifles so hav3 both powders loaded with only 1/2" of windage impact difference and the same velocity and accuracy level from both.

Not sure you can get the 160 or ANY powder for that matter..

Alliant Power Pro 4000 works pretty well in the 7mm Mag with the medium weight bullets and it's easier to find than most powders.

I’m not sure where your located but a buddy text me today and said he had 2 pounds of RL15 and 22 he wanted to get rid of for 45 a pound. It’s not mine but if you wanted it I could definitely pay him for it and hold onto it for you. Just a thought,

Hey - I have RL15 and only need RL22 - where are you located? I am in Pensacola FL area. Would love to get the 22 if you are reasonably close

Up until about 2 weeks ago Grafs had VECTAN 700 and 8000 available. Either one would have worked. Sadly that is gone too. Pretty dismal situation for sure.
