Well - may not be a problem.

Yesterday’s post about great shooting load from unavailable components may not be as big a problem as I thought.

Tried some 80.5 Berger’s with H4895 and 205MAR primers in the tube gun. At 100 yards they look OK. As it is a 1:8 I want to test them at full distance before I get too excited. Just because it will be supersonic past 1000, the stability is right on the edge with this barrel twist.
This was shot from bench with a front rest and rear bag. Yesterday was slung up in prone too.69AA1B0A-A56A-4897-8589-385855EA4FB5.jpeg

Also. Friend with a 3D printer made this handy bullet caddy. Has a rack to hold my iPhone or tablet and 25 rounds. Top is interchangeable for any caliber. I have 223 and .308. ( you can see the .308 tray stores in the bottom )
Loosen the wing nut and slide them in and out in a second. Pretty slick. 026A3388-87B1-4092-BD27-259133AB5FCB.jpeg

Gotta ask.
Is the chassis home built?
Is the barrel really just .750 straight? [Looks like a Houle locator near the muzzle]
Home built by Mtorre here on the Forum. bought it a couple of years ago and just getting around to shooting it like it should be. If it ever stops shooting well, I will put a 7: or 7.5 twist barrel on it and use it for full bore.

Barrel tapers to 0.750" with the tenon for Iron sights. Yes Houle locator. I use a Doug Beach front tower with 22mm front sight from Mark Trew. Local matches at Atterbury have one stage mandatory Irons ( Any Any Irons) in their midrange and Long range matches. Makes it more fun.

I shot the 80.5s over H4895 in 300 yd F-TR matches for years. That can be a very capable combination, as it looks like it might be in your rifle. H4895 is my go-to powder for heavies in a .223 Rem; I have not found anything better. The 8-twist rate is marginal, but you might get away with it. I'd try shooting some groups on paper with good backer, or possibly on a piece of cardboard, just to be certain the holes weren't oblong or out of round in any way. It's looking goood so far!
