well Bart Sauter is at it again- Cool Acres results

It was a great Match! Good people, good food, made some new friends! Kim and I enjoyed meeting the “Men from Manatee!” Steve Krauss, Roger Johnson, Thoma Kozar and Al Benarroch!

Full disclosure! I won the 2 Gun only by pencil-whipping Seth Wooten! He should have been the 2 gun winner! Fortunately, I have the agenda item drawn up (with plenty of signatures) that will fix how the 2 Gun will be calculated!

I’ll post the remainder of the results once I wake up!

It was a great match, with some great folks. Cool acres knows how to run a match !!!! Great job on their part.

Bart - pencil whipping is still allowed, and I guess for us it is a good thing. I might be mistaken (and correct me if I am) but I think we both pencil whipped johnny on Sunday... didn't we ??

You Are CORRECT!

It should have been!

1st Johnny Powers 4
2nd Seth Wooten 5
3rd Bart Sauter 9
4th Scotty Powell 10
5th Steve Krauss 17

Really folks, if you shoot 600 yards this Has got to get changed. If anyone needs me to explain why the current 2 Gun calculation need fixed I’ll be happy to!

While your at it, write one up to remove the scoring rings. Br matches should be won by the smallest group aggs!.. LOL, Im just kidding, kinda. But I do like how sr has separate group and score matches.

Boy this will open a can of worms but if I were King for a day I’d change/try out a few things!

1st All ranges would be allowed 6 Shooter of the Year matches. They don’t have to hold all of them but be given the opportunity for 6. Currently ranges can hold 5 matches. So double matches are well attended while most single matches have poor attendance. As a result we are loosing matches. Memphis will only hold 4 matches (2 double weekends) and drop the 5th match!

2nd Shooters would only be disqualified for safety violations! Instead of Disqualifying for 4 shots on the target the shooter would be assessed a penalty per shot not on target. If a shooter admits that he shot his target too many times he should be given the largest measurement and worst score.

3rd this is very radical! No more sightin period separate from record fire. The First match of an aggregate shooters would be given 10 minutes after that matches would be 7 minutes to complete their record fire. Shoot the gong when you want and the target when you want. Just get done in the allotted time. The current format encourages shooters to pretty much “Spray and Pray” ! Shoot your sighter plate in the last 5 seconds. Click to where the bullet hit and Go as fast as you can when the tape says commence fire! Golden 600 yard range shoots club matches like this and they are very well attended and well received.

Ok I’ve got my helmet strapped On and my flak vest and flame retardant suit buttoned up! Have at it!

#3 sounds like short range stuff... I think short range should have a sight in period and not be allowed to go back to the sighter..... lol jim
Number 3 would help cut down on all the complainting about relay (pick a number) has such an advantage! Let the shooter decide if he wants to run or pick and when he wants to!

This a 600 yard suggestion, not for 1000 yard competitions! 1000 yard matches have been around long enough that they are perfect! ;)
