Hello shooters, I was looking for an accurate 6.5 Creedmoor 140 grain max load and that is how I got here. Now I am addicted! I am a young fella (76) from Michigan. I am a gunsmith, have an FFL, shoot or have shot Cowboy, many Pistol venues, HI Power and other rifle venue, have held a level 6 Commercial Ammunition License and am a NRA Shooting Instructor in all disciplines. Most of all I am still a youngster in overhauls shooting a 22 shootin' iron with my Dad watching over my shoulder.

Hello. New to this site and fairly new to reloading and long range precision rifle. Looking forward to gaining some knowledge. Thank you

I was chastised for not being more specific whenI introduce myself

I am a senior in my 70s I have been reloading for about 20 years I’m basically a ham and Egger reloader nothing complicated but I reload all the favorite rounds. I am predominantly now a varmint and long range Shooter but not great but ok to 1000 yds
I try and go to SD every year for a week to shoot prairie dog
And to ohio 3 x a yr to shoot groundhogs
I also whitetail deer hunt every season
To me the shot is more important than the kill
Love shooting Long range ie over 500 yds out to 1000
Best confirmed shots so far is 776 yds on a groundhog and 1000 yards on a gallon of water
I live in NJ very unfriendly gun state and not too many places to shoot over 300 yds

I have a head crunching reloading issue
I reload or should say trying for my 224 Valkyrie. I shoot 75 and 90 gr
On a 1/ 7 twist rock river action
My hand load 75 will not go bang
No mark on the primer
Action seems to engage fully I think
I took the Bullet and power out and put it back in rifle and it fired. COL seems ok I think Duh Duh

Welcome to AS, lots of fellas here from your area.

Obviously new to the forum but certainly not to the hobby (lifestyle?) of reloading ammo. I cut my teeth in the reloading biz waaaaaaayyyyy back in the late '60's/early '70' cranking out 12 gauge trap loads on a Mec 250 copy. (I say "copy" cause Dad, being a tool and die maker, built it.) The old 250 used a transfer die between stations that stayed with the hull. The final step was to push the finished shell out of the die. Anyway, at the time I started, we were using Alcan "Air Wedge" and "Feltan Blue Streak" wads. You had to apply a fair amount of pressure when seating the wads to get a good seal in those old Winchester Ranger paper hulls. Used Alcan "MaxFire" primers too.

I think that's when/where I learned to love reloading. Transforming a slightly worn beat up paper 12 gauge hull and making it into something useful was rewarding.

And of course, it wasn't long after that I got introduced to metallic cartridge reloading and the steps necessary to produce usable ammo. (Again, using a press Dad built) Seems like we used Alcan primers there too as well as some Hodgdon branded primers. Surplus BLC2 fueled the .243's. 60 grain Sierra HP's were Dad's choice. They were hard on coyotes. The first coyote I ever saw hit with a 243 was ripped up pretty good. Dad told us boys that that would be the very same thing that would happen to us if we were ever hit by a high power rifle. Gave us youngsters a healthy respect for firearms.

Now I primarily load 9mm for the USPSA game. I load 223 for some prairie dog hunting too. I don't shoot much trap these days as shooting cardboard and steel in action pistol has captured my fancy.

Oh yeah, currently living in the wilds of central Nebraska.

Hello ! Greeting from Mississippi! . Been reloading for a few years now still alot to learn and I think the guys on my trapping site are getting tired of all my reloading questions over there so figured I'd best get on a actual reloading forum lol.

Thanks for admission to this site. I am just navigating my way around the site, so patience is the name of the game for a while. I have some experience in hand loading - mostly rifle 30-06, 22-250, and 6mm-06. I have since dropped all long gun reloading and have move strictly into hand guns now. My son has recently decided to take up firearms and I am assisting him in any way I can ( except the $'s part ) !!
Most, if not all of my questions will be regarding hand guns. I have some rudimentary hand loading skills but the process have evolved considerably since I was last active in it.

I am from Canada - retired Crown Corporation employee and enjoying all the good things life has to offer.
I will tidy up my other pertinent details as time goes on.

Thank you

Hello everyone,
New to the site and I’m very impressed! I’m a huge quarter bore fan and shoot 25/06 with a fast twist barrel for the new bergers and also just built a 25 creedmoor to shoot the same 135 bergers.

I am new to this site and to this forum. I have been reloading off and on since I was about 13 in 1963 and started with one of them Lee Loaders that loaded one round at a time. I remember that I was delighted to learn that they actually worked!! I do not do a lot of experimentation and have settled on loads for only few guns that have worked for me over the years. 30/06, .222, .223, ,38 Spl, .357, .45 ACP, .20ga,12ga for trap and skeet + one wildcat 19/223 Calhoun. Favorite powders are IMR 4064 / 4224 / Bullseye / and American Select.

Been around a little while but never introduced myself. I'm Mike from Minnesota and I shoot and reload for the following calibers: 204 Ruger, 223 Remington, 6.5 Grendel and 6.5 Creedmoor.

I have a serious shooting addiction...

Hello Everyone. I recently joined a gun club and got back into shooting after a long hiatus. I am also looking at getting into reloading, something I have always been interested in. I have an Engineering background and education so quality control, procedures, and checks and balances has been my entire career. Being detail oriented and maintaining records and logs and ensuring processes are followed to the letter seems to lend itself to reloading.

At the beginning of 2020 I purchased some 38 Special ammunition for my S&W 357 Magnum Highway Patrolman revolver model 28-2. Unfortunately I purchased +P rounds and after a phone call to S&W was told I could not fire these in my revolver.

So my question is would it be possible to remove the bullet from the case, and reload them with the proper powder charge the reuse the same bullets? The ammo is PMC Gold Starfire 125gr +P .38 Special.

Or is this to involved for a beginning reloader and should I simply put the ammo up for sale?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone,
New to the site, but certainly not to reloading. Been reloading for about 10 years. My main interests are in precision long range shooting with some prairie dog hunting on the side. Also enjoy some trap, sporting clays and bird hunting, but don't currently reload for shotgun. I currently live in Colorado on the front range, but do most of my shooting back home in NW Kansas.

I reload for all my calibers, which has grown to be many over time. Currently shoot and reload for .223/5.56, 300 Blackout, 224 Valkyrie, 6mm ARC, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Win, 300 Win Mag, 300 PRC, 338 Lapua & 45 ACP.

I finally have run into some issues reloading I can't find a straight answer on when researching and am looking for fellow reloaders opinions. So I will be posting that question up in the main reloading forum section.

Cheers
