Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone, my name is Gary. Now that I’m retired and have time I’m getting back into reloading for my .308 Pistol. I love to shoot this hand cannon at the local outdoor range I belong to. I’m also going to load 9mm with my son in law. I will probably get the stuff for 45 ACP too. I’m looking forward to learn from all of you.

side note, in one month of searching I have found 800 large pistol primers, 600 small pistol primers, 1000 large rifle primers, lots of brass, bullets and powders, sizing dies. Maybe this ammo shortage is over or I’m living right.

Hi y'all. I am Joe. New to this forum and new to reloading. Have a gazillion questions.

Here's one; What would cause just three 45acp cases to fail to decap, no matter how many times I put them through the decapper, when 47 others decapped fine during the same run??.

Welcome, Joe. I would think flash hole is maybe too small, would be worth checking. You'll get better answers if you start a new thread to ask.

I am newish to reloading. I was given equipment, have purchased many supporting tools, gauges, dies, etc., read some reloading guides and watched videos. However, I am in need of some specific guidance on cases from a recent range trip. I used a friend's 45 to shoot some 45 ACPs I reloaded. The shooting went fairly well, but when I picked up the cases they all have ejection marks. Some are deeper than others. I am trying to establish go/no go criteria for future reloads. Can you suggest which forum would be best place to start. I have pics to upload if possible.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Have a Blessed Day.

Hello, I am glad to be here after lurking a few years. I currently reload .300 Blk, .223 and started reloading .308Win. I have actually joined because I havent been able to find answers for my current issue with 308.

Hello! I am from Upper East Tn and just starting to learn how to reload. My dad has been reloading since 1994 so I am familiar with a lot what goes on. He showed me how to reload some .223 the other day. Looking to start on that and 9x19 for now.

Hello all from New Jersey
I am new to the site.
I have been relodging for a few years[10 +/- ] strictly a ham and egger still a beginner reloaded but I seem to get it done for the common rifle rounds
But I hit a wall on loading my new 224 Valkyrie
It is a custom built AR platform 1/7 twist 24 inch barrel with a Rock River action
It fires 75 gr and 90 gr factory rounds no major firing issue [ ejection is another later issue]
Unfortunately it does not like the 90, lots of flyers
I hand loaded some 75 88 and 90 gr
it fired the 90 ( flyers) and some of the 88 ( better) but would not fire any of the 75 hand loads
I mean they would not go BANG
No mark on the primer
The primers were never touched on the 75 gr rounds
I took it all home removed the bullet and power of the rounds that did not fire and put the round back in the gun and it fired them all !!!!
Duh ??????
Beyond my area of competence
Anyone have a suggestion, observation or resolution
Your opinions/impute is both solicited and most appreciated

G'day all,
Although new to the forum I have been shooting and hunting for years, an Aussie septuagenarian, and fingers crossed, still going strong. Sambar are in plague proportions down the eastern coastal region, I live in Lakes Entrance in far eastern Victoria. It's nothing to see herds of 6 or 7 in the early morning and late afternoon. I have 2 rifles that I class as my Sambar specials, a .358 Winchester and an Accuracy International in .308 both potent on Sambar. I write this just as an introduction and will share some of my loads, pictures, and adventures as time goes on - I like what I see on the forum and hope to contribute.
Bye for now...

New guy here, reloaded when I was in my youth. I have decided to do it again because some ammo is getting hard to find, .44mag in particular. Retired military, always like to get into more hobbies anyway.

Thanks Forum Boss for the timely approval.
So I guess I’d better introduce myself since I’m the NFG.
My name is Jim, I’m a life-long hunter/shooter/fisherman since childhood. I have served in the US Army and am now retired way up here in the Pacific Northwest. Soon to be changing locations due to the rain and the very toxic environment.
I’m on most of the gun boards in this area and if you do a search for Caveman Jim, you will have found me.
I’ve pretty much got almost all of my handloads down to a satisfactory level since my aging body and eyes try to compensate with technology.
Hense the reason why I’m getting out of long range shooting, going to have to rehome some precision case prep tools. I will try and stay in the game as long as I can.

Good afternoon fellas". My name is Hugo Salceda new to the forum, actually new to A" forum never really had the need to become a member to any forum till I was introduced to accurateshooter.com by a friend of mine. Been pretty impressed of what I have read here lots of knowledgeable people that offer genuine help. Hope to learn as much as I can.
Short background of me* been shooting since before I could talk. Learned to reload from my pop's but just for the last 10 years I've actually place an interest on precision reloading and shooting.
So I got to make sure to state...that what I know", I really know nothing! So bare with me as I ask silly questions. Thanks

Hi all. Been reloading since the 70's off and on. Just bought a new Browning X-Bolt in 6.8 Western. RCBS e-mailed me on Oct 21 that they had dies back in stock. Bought the and they shipped on Oct 22. Alas the mailing to Alaska karma has me still waiting. This is a fun gun to shoot and I think reloading it will be fun. Since it's new should be plenty to share.

New shooter and reloader from North. Working on my 308win and 6.5creedmoor loads and try to tighten the group by understanding all the critical steps in the reloading process. Please don't laugh if I asked a stupid question.

I got into reloading when Obama came to power and just before the market went crazy.
I load for 38/357, 40S&W, 223/556 & 300BLK.
I’ve been able to buy and trade with many good people on PNW forums, I despise gougers.

Hi Everyone,
New member and newbie at loading. Late bloomer. I pretty much dove into this "full bore", no pun intended.
Native of Colorado, Golden High School, Western State College Gunnison, Geologist/Computer Science nerd.
Competing in High Power Silhouette, Small Bore Silhouette, F/TR. Newbie in these disciplines as well and working to improve. I enjoy elk hunting and bear hunting. Spent a lot of time in Alaska working in the field.
Current Calibers: .308Win, 6.5mm Creedmoor, 22LR, 5.56mm, 9mm, 12gauge
Reloading Gear Big Stuff: Redding T7, AMP Annealing Unit, Primal Rights CPS, Henderson Precision Gen3 case trimmer, Lyman case prep station, wet and dry tumblers.
Reloading Gear Small Stuff: Wilson FL bushing dies, SAC The Seating Die, Redding Comp .308 seating die, 21 Century Universal mandrel die. Plus all the expensive components that are so hard to find.
Here to learn from the broad breadth of knowledge and experience on this forum. And, like Wiley Coyote I am NOT a Super Genius, most of my projects and endeavors end with me not even getting close to the Road Runner, but I keep trying to strap an Acme rocket to my back to catch up.
Welcome! I’m a retired P.E. so I won’t hold that rockhound thing against you. I’m a T7 user too and I shoot many the same cartridges you are shooting. My family liked to vacation at Harmel‘s on the Taylor River when I was a kid, that is a beautiful area you are from for certain. Kudos for becoming a gold member right out of the gate.

I’ve been reloading since 1969. Mostly for hunting with little thought of Percision reloading. That began in earnest about 10 years ago with my first PRS rifle. Great fun until the positions and my body didn’t work well together. I now shoot 22 sniper local matches and 600 yard benchrest. New to the benchrest but am learning thanks to a kind and knowledgeable group at my club.
I’ve given up on most of the action shooting sports due to a 3 year battle with cancer but do love to shoot PCC .
I still hunt and enjoy what God has provided us and I hope to pass along what little I’ve learned. I don’t mind saying I don’t know the answer and am always looking for advise.

Hello everyone, I am Kevin Tyree from Morris, Al. I am new to the group and always been interested in reloading. I was just able to get my press and try to get started, but as my dad used to say, I am always a day late and a dollar short. I was so happy to be able to get started that I didn’t realize powder and primers were like trying to see a unicorn. My plan is to get help from my older neighbor who’s been reloading since the 70’s. I also am going to try and learn all I can and stay away from max loads until I become more experienced. I will be mainly loading for my hunting rifles and pistol also.

Hello all,

Looking forward to learning and sharing knowledge with all of you.

I've been reloading for about 15 years and I cast my own bullets as well. I enjoy the load development process; success or fail, and I've had plenty of both.

I'm located in Central Texas just south of Waco.
