Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

I'm newly returned to reloading as of June this year, my prior reloading experience was using a Lee Loader with powder dipper and mallet for range use 38 special for my then-new S&W Model 13 in 1983 - 1984. This time I've purchased a press and such like. I recognize I have little to contribute vs members who have been reloading a long time but hope my contributions are viewed as constructive when I contribute. I'm primarily here to learn as a member vs as a lurker.

New to forum from Texas. Been reloading for about 5 years now, but getting more serious about it lately. Lots of rabbit holes to explore. Looks like a bunch of knowledge on this site. Thanks in advance, and for the add.

Hello all,

I'm Mike. Mid 40's guy, former machinist now a journeyman electrician living in NE Oklahoma. Shooting is a hobby/passion for me that has really taken off over the last few years.

I just recently (last 3 months) started reloading. I bought a 300 Win Mag hunting rifle from a co-worker and was less than impressed with my accuracy from factory loads. So I started researching how to reload and the bug has bit me hard. I'm now reloading for the 300 and also started on .308 for a gas gun as well.

At this point I have more questions than answers and I will do my best to find answers in the archives before posting a question that's been answered 1000x before.

Glad to be here.

Mike

Hello everybody, I'm CJ. I am new to the forum. I have been into the reloading and shooting world for a few years now. More recently I have started dabbling in F-Class shooting and PRS. I recently found a good group of guys to shoot with and learn from and am always looking for more information on reloading and gear. Looking forward to learning from these forums.

Hello first post here have a 26 inch 1 in 8 220 swift a.i. l just got my brass formed lets hear some opinions on powders. Have superperformance, hodgdon h1000, 4831, 4350 and imr 4064, 4350 on the shelf planned on using a 62 grain ttsx barnes. Any input is appreciated.

Hey new friends, I am Mike Grace. I have my original rock chucker from 1975. I reload 7mm-08 and .223. Got other dies but these are my current interests, hope to learn more here.

Hi everyone, I'm Mike and love hunting and shooting and reloading. Thinking about starting to cast my own bullets. Would appreciate all help from any of you. Hope you all are ok with all that is happening to our country. Stay safe.

Hi everyone. Been lurking for a while but finally signed up. Been reloading for quite a few years. I used to shoot hi-power in local matches until I couldn't get into position easily, tried hunter benchrest for a while until it too became a $$ sport. Life's complications happened in the 90s & I'm finally unpacking boxes of gun stuff this year while blowing the dust out of what's in the safe. Retired now, settling into my (hopefully) last home & am having the time of my life experimenting with all the new stuff that's come out in the interim.

Far North reloading in Alaska. Not new to reloading about 10 years under my belt. Reload 50 bmg to 223 with 308 being most often.

Down here in Alabama with a couple Dillon 550s and a Redding T7. Venturing into the exciting and uncharted waters of wildcattery. Currently developing my own cartridge, the 257 QPC. For the vanilla stuff I play with .25-06AI, .223, .308, 30-30, .44mag, .357mag, 38spl, .45acp, 9mm, .357sig. Probably going after a 7PRC soon, and maybe a ?x55 Swede variant of some sort...

Hello folks, glad to join this group. I’m an avid shooter that recently started reloading when I purchased a Savage 110 chambered 6.5mm x 284 Norma. I’m also interested in hand loads for my Tikka T3 chambered in 30-06. I look forward to reading your posts and learning from your experience.

Been reloading since highskool (about 60 years ago--I'm now 76-1/2) and have had 'on' periods and 'off' periods.. Got interested in pistols--for carrying, not for competition--more than a decade ago and am still reloading for my 40S&W, newish Ruger 5.7X28 pistol, and again for my 18"-barrelled AR-15 in 6X45.. Its twist rate of 10" is consistent with its case length of 45mm*, and I've been shooting 85g. Speer soft-point boattails.. Just found a bunch of 'factory-second' red-plasic-tipped, all-copper, 80g. bullets that I believe are Hornady GMXs and have loaded a few to test Saturday and Sunday.. We'll see how that goes.

I've known this forum since 2007 with a Bill Shehane-'smithed 6.5-284 Shehane with BAT action, 28" barrels, etc. that I shot a year-and-a-half in thousand-yard comp**....
Mine1_1500w.jpg
...but I tired of that after wearing out my 3rd barrel and sold everything.. Restarted in 2017 with a Savage-12 benchrest rifle in 6.5-284.
2017Mar01_65-284 on Farley & Prtktr_1500w.jpg
By then my right shoulder was wearing out and I was rather sensitive to recoil so I rebarrelled that to 6.5 Creedmoor and then to 6XC.. Just when I was shooting initial groups, that, too, wore me out, so in my safe it rests..

* That is, it doesn't shoot long bullets very accurately.
** One lucky Saturday I managed to shoot, at a thousand yards, a 5-shot group of 4-9/16" and a 10-shot group of 7-odd-inches.. It was all downhill from there.. :-(

Hi All,
Steve in Virginia joining the group and glad to be here. Looks great and lots of good info so far.
About me stuff. Retired Army, 21 years. Was the Brigade Senior Armorer for a while and was familiar with and qualified on every piece of equipment in the arms room including all the weapons. Expert qualification on everything from the 9mm Barettas to the AT4 and during my time in Germany I qualified expert with all the German Army weapons as well. I ran all the qualification ranges for several years towards the end of my career. That said, I dont own a lot of personal firearms myself but the collection is growing. I have a Tarus G2C that I carry daily, a Ruger GP100 6.5 long in .357, a Ruger SRH in .480 Ruger that I plan to hunt with and last but not least a Browning BLR in .300 Win Mag that will also be employed to take down game and feed the family. Just got the rifle a few weeks ago and enjoying the hell out of it.

New to reloading in general but I'm all in I guess. Lee loadmaster progressive in the basement. Buying all the ancillary equipment as I go. Have all the dies and such but components are scarce I'm finding out now. No idea what's good and what's not developing my load data and pet loads but it's really slow going. Advise and insight is always welcomed and if you happen to be in the Fredericksburg area, a beer and a story are always welcomed as well.
Thanks.
