Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hi, I found this site by accident. Although I reload and have been for many years, I have to admit I'm more addicted to making once fired brass.
Glad to be here.

Welcome. Maybe we’ll call you “Bob’s Big Boy”
That's good Mike, I like that. We also shoot all the big SW revolvers, I just like to shoot anything. We got into the 6.5 and 338 quite a few years ago, and it just grew from there. I went to the 416 because of the felt recoil, much better than the 50.

Hi every one. I found this site while looking for some answers to a problem. Was in hopes you could help me. I am Captain Jim. I have a M1A chambered in 6.5 CreedMoor. I started reloading for it looking for better accuracy. It is very accurate but it does not cycle but about 1/2 the time. I started with H4350 and 140 Gr. bullets. I am now down to 120 Gr. bullets and IMR4895 with better results but it still has problems chambering the next round.

I would start here and depending on what point it isn't either picking up the round or not, I would suspect the Mag

Hello all my name is David, I am new to this and reloading so I will have lots of questions

Good morning gentlemen, I’m from Texas and I’ve reloaded for years up until about a decade ago when I sold everything due to moving but I’m still a newbie on load development stuff. I’m really confident in the basics/fundamentals of reloading and I’m looking forward to learning new things from the overwhelming amount of knowledge that’s on this site.

New from the Texas hill country. Been receiving help from my friend to roll my own 6.5CM (aka 6.5manbun) and about to get into .284win...once you squeeze out repeatable .2” groups, it’s hard to go back to factory..... long time lurker. Website is great source of info

Good Day folks great site here!
Dave Jenkins signing in I like to tinker with BR cases and wildcats out of the TC-Encore platform:
Currently working with this 26" 10 twist 6BR and have a 20BR in the works for spring.

Good day all. Hal from Georgia signing in. Long time hunter and reloader. Always looking to learn something new to improve my reloading and rifle accuracy. I tinker mostly with wildcat cartridges and shoot them at deer on bean fields. My wildcats include 22-284, 6-284, 6-270 WSM and 220 Jaybird. Looking forward to learning from you. Have a nice day.

Read your forum several times. Finally have a question to ask. Retired currently reloading 1,500 9mm. Reloaded 357, 38 special, 30-06, 45acp and 270. Over the years shoot on my range 100 to 1400 rounds depending which child shows up. Looking at steel factory targets. Been using used scrap metal {the good kind]. Want to upgrade to maybe reactive type targets. Pleasure joining your group. Hope you hit everything you aim for, doesn't get any better than that!

Hey all. I've been thinking about reloading my .308s after getting hurt at work and, being faced with a considerable amount of time off, figured it was as decent time as any to get it going. I came into a bunch of mixed powders, primers, and 208gr AMAXs from a guy that was getting out of it, so I'm going to try my hand at working up some subsonic loads. I hunt, don't compete, but I like shooting far things as much as the next guy.
So far you guys have been a wealth of info, and good to 'meet' you all.

Welcome neighbors from upstate SC.

Hi folks; I'm not exactly new to the shooting fraternaty, but have little to no experience with precision loading techniques.
The one thing I would like to ask more experienced reloaders is how many times can I reload 6BR brass?
I have some that I have loaded and annealed many times. I lost count of how many times the several different lots have been reloaded, so is there some life expectation, or can I keep loading it until it fails?

If you're annealing regularly, you shouldn't experience split case necks. If you measured chamber headspace and properly adjusted the dies to match cartridge headspace to chamber headspace, you shouldn't experience case head separation. If you aren't pushing the limit of chamber pressure, you shouldn't experience catastrophic failures.

That pretty much leaves primer pockets opening up until seating a primer is a little too loose.

Having said that, consider what happens when a case fails. The best case scenario is gas leakage at the neck, case body or around the primer pocket causing etched chamber or boltface. The worst case involves destroying a gun, eyes and/or fingers. It puts into perspective the relative value between a piece of brass and a firearm or body parts.
