Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

I'm Larry from Cinn, Ohio. I have been a Member of MR&PC since 1990. Ive been shooting in competion since 1983. I started with muzzle loaders went to Bullseye, NRA across the course and into Long Range. I'm now involved with Mid range and Long range shooting. Due to a back injury I haven't shot very much for 2 years. . I will get back in competition in early 2012. I have reloaded for competition in XRC and Mid and Long range in 233, 260 Rem, 6.5x55, .308, and 30-06. Whats great about reloading is that you always have something to due. Shooting and reloading are the most technical sport ever. I find it facinating to make a rifle shoot well. Larry

Just purchased my first firearm, picked up enough equip, to try reloading. A friend suggested that this would be a good place to get advice.

Did a lot of reloading as a kid, but it was slave labor for dad, he developed loads for Dupont back in the '60s and '70s.

Recently went to a long range shoot with the friend and finally got a chance to try a piece that I have been wanting to try since 1963, a Remington XP-100 Custom. It was chambered in 260 Rem. Got to shoot 6 rounds, and on the third round I hit the 8" target at 900yds! What an amazing piece of hardware!

Welcome MGrant.
As Wayne said, this is a great site and is very active with all kinds of great information. I'll bet that slave labor when you were young will sure come in handy now that you are getting into the sport. We will be looking for your posts and more success stories like your great 900 yard shot.

Ha there all, I'm Donald (NOTAHD) from Shangahi, West Virginia and yes there is a Shangahi a small community just outside Inwood. I enjoy bench rest and target shooting, motorcycles and loafing around. Just wish I could get paid for it. I enjoy reloading and load testing.

I'm Dave Stiles. I'm from Shoreline Washington, just north of Seattle. I've been reloading for about three years and hunting/shooting for about seven years. I like to write, cook, hunt, shoot, and work with computers. I've been in the High-Tech field or over 20 years; worked for Microsoft for 11 years. I'e been married for 37 years to the same wonderful woman, have 4 kids and 4 grandkids.
Prior to my high-tech career I was a professional chef in Seattle and wrote a cookbook 5 years ago.

Hi! Im not new to shooting, (40 years or so), but have always had good luck reloading mostly for hunting. Recently, however due to old age, I spend much more time punching paper. I have never had many problems loading, but recently had a bunch of split necks with my 243 Howa. Any ideas as to the reason?

Welcome Quadrajetnut! I guess your handle gives away your age. I rebuilt a many of them in my past. You found the right place for reloading and such. Many good folks on this site. Glad to have you aboard. You may want to post your question in a separate message as you may not many get many replies on this thread.

Greetings from Nevada!

I've been looking at this site for a while. 'Bout time to register!

Am not a pure BR competitor (although I would like to). But I do enjoy applying BR techniques to "live" varmint rifles. The quest for accuracy is addicting!

I been to NV several times so we both live in states where it gets hotter than, well most places. Lots to learn from this site and hope to see you in the posts.

Awe yes the Quadrajet, had metering rods instead of the WORTHLESS power valves that motocraft and autolite had that always was causing them to puke fuel, with just a few tweaks and some linkage removed the quadrejets were excellent carberators and decent performers.
Welcome to the forum Quadrajet.

Good evening folks,

My screen name is P-Squared, my friends call me Pete, so on the outside chance we end up friends, just call me Pete. I relatively new to shooting, only about 2 years, but it's been pointed out that I'm addicted. I started reloading about 6 months into this 'hobby' and kick myself for not getting started sooner.

I built my first rifle, an AR15, just because. Last year's project was a POF .308. I learned it was easier to start out with one built and just add the accessories. This year's project is a .338LM.

I'm obsessed with accuracy and repeatability even though I'm never satisfied. I'm here to learn and share, and most of all to have fun.

Pete

Outstanding my friend.

I picked up a older but new Tikka 558 bull barrel in .308.
I hand loaded to hunt, now I want to hand load for better accuracy.

Welcome Alarsense,
I hear good things about the Tikka. I also reloaded just to hunt for many years and now an loading more for accuracy and enjoy shooting little groups in paper. I had to get some better equipment and change the way of doing things but that's a good thing. Great people on this site and their knowledge never seems to stop. Welcome to the forum.
