Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

HELLO !! I've just recently tried this forum. As I expected, you folks present a great amount of beneficial knowledge. I am in Western Pa. and have reloaded most of my adult life (now retired sheetmetal worker). My current favorite pet is a 6.5x55SE that was created from a dukes mixture of parts. I also help a local custom rifle builder finalize and break-in rifles for his cutomers. His pets are 6.5/284's built on Sako85 actions with Walther reverse taper barrels. I can't recommend the Swede highly enough and insist that everyone should have at least one. Fenominal performance without being kicked like a mule.
I am also an Advisory Staff member for Barnes bullets and their new 130gr Triple Shock in 6.5 is quite accurate in my rifle (and others) and should satisfy the needs of most all hunters. You'll need to get on the band wagon with solid copper bullets as the tree huggers have already killed lead-filled pills for military and law enforcement. You'll be next !
Greetings to all from Pa. !

Hello... Nice Forum. Hopefully, I can participate in the exchange of useful information. One of the ladies at work has a coyote problem that coincides with my effort to get back into predator and varmint hunting. What timing! 8)

For a year or so I have been getting good info off this site. I'm not a BR shooter, but the BR shooters know the truth about precise guns and reloading.

I have been reloading for 5 years or so. Started with hunting chambers, but now reload for 6.8SPC AR (hogs & deer) and a 223 AR. Both I built myself. Recently I built a DPMS LR 308 with a 6.5x47 chamber. The 223 got me out to 500 yds accurately and I learned alot about long range shooting from reloading for it. Decided to go 6.5x47 to get out to 1000yds and participate in multi gun precision matches.

Live in Austin, TX. Member of Austin Rifle Club.

I'm here to gain knowledge, so thanks in advance.

My name is James Mock and I have reloaded metallic cartridges for the last forty years. Currently, I am a staff writer for Precision Shooting Magazine.

I shoot a 6mm Dasher with 32.0 grains of 8208 XBR pushing a 105 gr. Berger VLD for 600 yard competition. Most of my shooting is short range Benchrest in which I use the 6PPC. I use a BAT/Leonard rifle switch barrel for both disciplines. Good shooting....James

Hi,

I'm Molly, and I want to thank you for the resources on this web site.

Some of you may know me from other web sites. I founded the Cast Bullet Association (now world-wide), and am mostly active on the 'Cast Boolits' web site. I look forward to learning more here.

Regards,
Molly

great site guys, I'm Ben Stultz from alabama I shoot 6mm,6.5,&7mmbr's, also a 257ss & 6.5x47lapua Iwill shoot anything that go's bang.

I may have messed up, if so I'm sorry. I posted a "new guy" thread on the Main Page, and it appears this thread is the more proper location for that text.

I'm Allen, and I've reloaded shotshells since 1971 and metallic cartridges since 1976. Current caliber count is 35 rifle & handgun chamberings, and 3 shotshell gauges. My area of deepest current concentration is cast bullets in both rifles and handguns, but I'm known to take an off-ramp now and then and explore other venues. One such recent exit is my first "personally-owned" AR-15. (Yeah--where you been?) I had them issued at work, and started missing the loveable EBRs, so I built one on an off-list lower (I'm in the People's Republic of California). Call me subversive, but I'm too old to be spray-painting overpasses.

'Nuff o' that. I look forward to learning A LOT, and from a site overview I have a great oppurtunity from what I've seen so far. Hopefully, I can contribute something of value as well.

Well I've just signed up. I've been reloading for about 5 years so I'm quite new at it but I have a buddy that is my mentor he's been at it for 25+ years.
For now I load .223, 270wsm and 300wsm, I'm meanly into some target but heavy into hunting, mostly deer and moose.

Hello Everyone;
I am new to reloading and shooting. Currently, I own a Model-66 Mauser, a Spanish 7x57 Model-93 Mauser and a Winchester lever action .22LR. I grew up out in the country and shot a lot when I was much younger. I just recently got back into the shooting hobby this year ... I am much older now.

This is a great forum! There are a lot of very knowledgeable and helpful folks here. I plan on hanging out here often.

I am a hi-tech consulting engineer from San Jose CA.

Hello Everyone,

At this point, I'm not into benchrest, more minute of varmit. I've been reloading for a lot of years but have just started to really bear down over the past few. I could use advice and help so here I am. Looking forward to participating.

Thanks,
Jim
