Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hi Folks,
Just joined looking for info on reloading for the new 6BR barrel I recently acquired. I've no experience with this round. Great site!

The 6BR will be used for hunting not competition. Mostly for birds such as black grouse and capercaille, but also fox. I bought it to replace a poorly performing 243Win and am looking forward to seeing how it can shoot.

Greetings!

I've been a long time user of 6mmbr, but just now getting into handloading. I've lurked in several reloading/handloading forums, and this one seems to be the most helpful.

I've read six loading manuals and two books on reloading, took a beginner loading course, agonized over five different equipment purchase catalogs, and now have placed my initial order with a helpful small dealer... and, as I stare at the partially assembled multitude of parts, I realize that I still know NOTHING. {sigh}

Joined to learn more about target shooting. Always wanted to do it, just gathering information and starting to build a rifle.

I'm the owner of Freakshow Mfg LLC. My company is a commercial ammunition manufacturer. We also make custom AR15 builds, so I'm most familiar with the .223. I will be making a rifle in .223 AI to start with and hone my shooting skills a bit to see if I like it. Then I was thinking of building a dedicated target rifle.

I wish there were more competitions in my area but looks like I'll have to travel a bit to find any respectable competitions here.

Looking forward to learning and sharing.

Adam

Hello All,

I've been a casual/fun shooter here in Britain since I was a youngster, some 30+ years ago, and have recently decided that I'd like to give F-Class a go. This has been influenced in no small part by my discovery of 6mmbr.com several years previously.

I'm currently having my first long range rifle assembled in 6.5x47 Lapua, and I'm hoping to draw on the collective wisdom of fellow readers for all sorts of things - and with any luck in future, contribute a little myself too.

Regards,

Paul

anyone have any experience reloading 308 API? I have never reloaded any of these, any advice. I have 100 bullets I would like to reload.

Hello! I have been reloading pistol ammunition for quite some time. First for myself years ago and recently for my adult son who is a competitive shooter and got tired of the over-the counter loads. Here's the problem; I understand about crimping the revolver loads. BUT I am told that automatics,,like the 9mm) headspace on the ridge at the bullet end of the cartridge. If I crimp the mouth of the cartridge, what am I doing to head spacing? Previous to now, I have been loading 9mm with FMJ and just let case tension hold the slug. Now I want to use some lead rounds and I want the durn bullet to stay in the cartridge. Elevate my ignorance . . . over.

I am a new subscriber from southern New Mexico. I mainly shoot 223 and 308 calibers at longer ranges; possibly larger calibers in the future. I have some scientific training and want to learn more about precision reloading techniques and ballistics. Even though I am more a tactical shooter, than a benchrest shooter, I find a lot of interesting material on this site.

Brand new OldGuy. I was referred here by another forum in my search for information on hBN for Sierra M/K 175s. My Son has a dedicated rifle requiring a Moly or bHN coated 175s.

45+ years reloading and load data development, but there's always something new, and I hope to gain some insight here.
Thanks

You'll find some proven loads in our 7mm Cartridge Guide:

I'm Brian and live in the Dallas area. I'm pretty new to all this but I have been around reloading most of my life. I have inherited some Rilfes from and old wildcatter friend of mione that I have never heard of. One is a .277 x 36 IMP. Has anybody heard of this? If so, where might I find some data on it. Thanks fro the help. There is a lot of good info on this site. I use it quite a bit but can't find anything on this load.
Thanks again

I'm Rich. Lineman in northern california. I'm new to reloading and am mostly loading for hunting. Trying to find a potent load for my .223 using barnes 70gr tsx. I'm shooting a 1 in 9 twist savage.

Hey all, my name is Andrew. Been following 6mmbr.com for a while now, just decided to join the forum tonight. I've primarily shoot a Remington 700 .308 win that I've built, and I reload for it. I'm trying to learn all I can about this sport and eventually hope to compete in F Class T/R competition. Any tips are appreciated.

Great site here. I'm in northern Wisconsin and have been reloading for almost 40 years. Now that I am retired I intend to reload a lot more. Now that I have the time I am finding out just how much I don't know about reloading, but I intend to learn a lot from this site.
Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Howdy folks ~
I've been using this site for reloading and equipment info for quite awhile, so I should make it legal I guess.
We've got our place here in Montana out across the river from Sidney. I am rifle loading mostly for .223, 6BR, and .308. Got started in 6BR on the cheap, buncha eBay Remington brass and then had a 788 chamber reamed for it), but did not have much luck with that. Now I have a Mike Johnson - Shooting Specialties - gun and know I am to fault when the poor groups hit the paper.
Looking to do long distance dog shooting w/6BR and work at longer ranges with big game. Need lots of work to do either.
And I like action pistol ... so there is plenty of brass to work.

Thanks to all for the help thus far. I do need more.
