Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Greetings! from western KY,
I'm re-learning to handload after ~ 20 yrs. away from this art form. With the changes made since then,I'm a rookie again!
I have 2 antique Herters Super#3 presses;the first one I bought in '74,used, from a man who said he bought it new in '64.Most everything else has been replaced new.
I mostly handload for rifle for deer hunting, varmint control, mostly coyotes & groundhogs around here),target shooting out behind the barn, not formal competition....just don't have the time.
Loading for old faithfuls like the standard .243's,.270's,.30-'06's,etc. as well as some of the less-favored shortFat cartridges:WSM's & WSSM's.
Have learned a LOT from the friends I've made over on wssmzone.com Forum.A lot of those guys are over here; they also know me as
----Gnarly ;)

Hi everyone,  I used to shoot a 6mm Rem. and I'm still into reloading. My equipment is old and I thought I'd see what you guy's are using nowaday for top quality accuracy.  Great site you got here.   Thanks.

I am new to reloading 308 for long range and looks like there's a lot of great knowledge to digest here.

Thanks for letting me join.

Hi everyone, been reading this forum for a while, lots of knowledgeable people. Have only reloaded since last summer,.223 Rem.) for my Rem 700 varmint. Haven't shot much since late 60's, you know where that was. Anyway, looking forward to tightening my groups.

Hello, Im not new to this site, or shooting, like about 50 years now, so yes Im old, but not to old to shoot well. but just never posted hear in two years. I shoot a lot of different rifles and hand guns, but my forty and interest is in BR shooting, mostly at 100, and some times 200. I build most all of my own rifles, and only shoot my own hand loads. I have mainly shot my 6BR, and have had good success, and am now building a 22 BR, and am just waiting on the barrel from Pac-Nor.
And I can say with out a doubt, this is the best target shooting web site on the net. The amount of knowledge hear just boggles my mind, and that's because they have the best shooters and smiths hear, and I suck up as much info as possible.
And Im vary glad to be hear.
Mike.

Hello all from Southern NH

I have read a lot on the site and decided it was time to join in on the action. Been reloading for nearly 25 years but that doesn't mean I know everything. Even us veterans need a little guidance now and then! I shoot a 7mm Browning X-bolt and .308 Remington M700p TWS and also a 25-06 Mark V Whetherby. All are hunting rifles but would like to someday to get in to match shooting. So I am here to gain all the knowledge I can.

Hi I am a 25yr Ihmsa veteran I shot a lot of pistol and have a tack driving 280 AI in a 26 inch Encore. I have purchased a Bergara bbl. in 223 but I haven't started to do load development it's still winter. I love to talk loading info especially to help new shooter's

I don't have any load data for a 223, but I do have an Encore rifle.
Just curious, did you do any aftermarket mods to your Encore to improve accuracy? Bellm?
I joined to look for load data for an MGM 243 AI. Live in Texas, and trying to locate ranges where I could watch some competition.
Good luck.

Hello, Tony here. I am 35yr old inactive Marine and live in the great state of Oregon. I have been shooting all my life and recently got heavily back into reloading. I own Sigs, Glocks, a S&W 9mm, a Walther 22 with a sound suppressor, the infamous 10/22, a Ruger 22/45, a bone stock AR15-A2 Bushmaster, an AK,,2) 30-06's, a 12ga and my pride and joy, a custom built M-14 built on a LRB receiver with all GI or better parts. She is dressed in a Big Red birch stock that I finished myself.

I served 9 years in the Marines and got out in 2001. I have been married, divorced and re-married. I have a beautiful 12 yr old daughter that I take to the range frequently and my wife is a great gal who is slowly warming up to shooting. I work in the high-tech industry but am currently looking to get back into uniform. I am also a very active Christian.

I reload for 9, 40, 45, 500 S&W, 357 sig, 223, 30-06 and 308. I am an active member on the M14 firing line and a few other forums as well. I look forward to learning and sharing experiences with you all.

Cheers,
Tony.

Gents,

Hi From Down Under, I've been a long time sponge on this forum. I've learned a lot and continue to do so. Great site

Hi all - and thanks already!
Just joined the forum as I'm new to reloading. To be truthful, I don't reload 6mm but I hope I'm still welcome on your site as I have already discovered you people REALLY seem to know your stuff on all matters 'Handloadopaedic'!!

I think I've got all the case prep tools together, and I'm still deciding which press to go with - I'm still torn between the Dillon XL650 or the RCBS 2000,Auto Index).
I'll be loading .223,RRA CAR A4 16' barrel, 1-9 twist, chambered in 5.56 [semi-auto]) and 9mm Luger,Glock 19 & Kahr PM9), roughly in equal amounts,about 2,000 per month).
If anyone reads this and has any input, I am an almost-dry sponge and I really want to learn.

I have so many questions that I wouldn't know where to begin, and I don't want to waste members' time on matters that are already to be found somewhere in the Forum. Time is especially precious for me, but for now I will continue to plunder your files until I have some specific - but equally naïve and pathetic - questions.

I cannot imagine I have any knowledge to pass on now - or in the near future, unless you need an 'experiences of a neurotic novice' thread, but God willing, some day I might have one or two pearls of wisdom I can cast. At least on your forum I know that if I ever do, it won't be pearls before swine!!!

Thank you all for the knowledge I have already gained, and thank you all again - in advance - for all the knowledge that is to come.

I began reloading in 1975, using a Lee Load All. Over the years I have graduated from reloading practice ammo only to shooting only reloads. Besides my small number of hunting loads, I also feed three AR-15's, for High Power, a tight necked 308 Hunter Benchrest, and soon a 6.5 Creedmore for Long Range. I also hope to get back to shooting Cowboy Silhouette with my Marlin 30-30. Now I have not only a Redding Single Stage but a Wilson system for my HBR. Kind of like I have gone full circle and am back to the Load All.

Hi Everybody,

After a 30yr layoff I am back into shooting/reloading. Plan on accurizing my old stuff and building a 6BR. Wow things have changed since I quit shooting. Computers for example.

Aloha Les

Howdy Shooters,

I am a newby to this Forum and have great expectations of many informative threads. I came to this forum with a need to find reloading information for my new Savage LRPV 22-250 1-9 twist. It seems that the manuals do not see a demand to publish data for this configuration. I have been a reloader for the past 30 years and a shooter for much longer.

Hello everybody.

Finally joinded the forum! I am a new shooter, well new to accurate shooting. Just started reloading this year with the 308win out of the Remington ss 5R milspec. Still to this day I can remember what it felt like to walk up to my target and relize I DIDN'T miss...My God what a rush...Sierra 175gr naked, Varget 43.0grs, winchestr brass, BR2 primers,col.2.800'....first 5 out of the gun,'new gun' were .535'. Now I have come to the sad understanding that I don't have or make enough money to satisfy my needs...because I need anything accurate. Oh my best Three shot group was .355'.

Love this website too, but it shure takes a long time for pages to come up, I have super fast wireless internet but the forum pages are super slow comeing up, I mean I can make a cup of coffee slow. But still worth the wait!

New to the great site. Love the 6br. I don't shoot as much as I would like or how much I used too. My 6 is a Rem xp that started as a 22-250. It was my retirement gift to myself and I had it worked on with a new barrel in 6br. It is nothing special but I like it. I plan on developing a load when I get a trust worthy scale. Any comments on the RCBS Chargemaster? This site was recommended to me by a much better shooter than I, my Brother. I spent hours on it last night just reading the great articles and info on the 6. I look forward to making it shoot with everyone's help. Pistlshuutr

New to the forum

Looks like a very good forum. my son and I shoot in the IHSMA hand gun Silhouette. We have been doing this for 120 years now. Have been reloading for that may also. It is always good to find a new forum where you can share experiences and information about reloading and load development.
Boy what would we do for ammunition if we didn’t reload?. Bad news!

Well I hope to meet and talk with you all.

Have a nice day
