Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Thanks for allowing me to join.

I shoot a few rifles in slightly unusual chamberings. I started shooting in the UK, but moved to the USA nearly 7 years ago, in no small part to be able to shoot and hunt more.

I don't shoot as much as I would like, and I play a little game with myself that every firearm I buy has to be useable for hunting where I live (Pocono mountains of NE PA).

Nearly 100% of the ammunition I shoot is what I load myself (except rimfires, but I really don't shoot much of that). I strive for accuracy, and occasionally achieve it!

My most recent firearm acquisition is an "Australian" BSA Martini that has had its chamber reamed from 310 Cadet to 32 Win Spl. It functions fine with the 7 rounds of factory that I have been able to find and run through it, but is not pleasant to shoot! So the first things you'll likely see me asking about is how to create some more manageable loading for it...

That's about me for now!
Guy
You can resize 30-30 win easy for 32 win .
26.1 grains of IMR 3031 will drive their Hornady 170 grain bullet to a MV of 1700 fps.

I’m not new on the site, but new to the reloading part here. I’ve been reloading since 1967 when I got out of college and joined a police dept. I started shooting police practical matches. My first reloading experience was 38 specials and then 357’s,
Went from there to a 264 win mag I purchased.! It’s been all down hill from there. I now reload for more than 30 calibers. I just recently purchased a Lyman turret press and extra turret and filled them up with rifle dies. I have a Dillon 550 for all my pistol reloading (and 223 and 308). Also reload for 20 and 28 gauges,
I have seen shortages before and thats why I have about 3 lifetimes of powder, primers, and bullets on hand at all times. I haven’t bought factory ammo in 40 years or more, except for rimfires.
That being said, hello from western Oklahoma.

Hello, new to reloading and just purchased the Hornady Lock and Load and some other equipment to get started. I purchased a Henry Big Boy X in .357 Magnum and realized that is not an easy round to find, that prompted me to get into reloading. Looking forward to searching thru the forum and finding some tips and tricks!

Hi, My name is Jack Davis and go by user: bronzeo (I am a bronze artist, retired) I now own and operate an vintage gun museum and sales shop. I am an avid benchrest (small cal.) shooter, and have gained a lot of hopes of shooting some of my German sporting rifles (the Schuetzens primarily) I have owned 6 now and am needing some help with ammo. I will get with that in another post. Thanks for having me.

Not new to the forum but new to reloading forum. These days I’m just reloading .223 and 22Hornet. In the past (and hopefully a couple of these soon) 38 Special, 357Mag, .308, 22-250.

Greetings! I've been a reloader for almost 40 years, but the level of expertise on this forum is still quite intimidating. I started with a Lee loader in 38, graduated to a Lee 3-hole Turret press, and have worn out two of them, to the tune of 762,000 rounds thus far, all carefully documented. In the 80's I found out that my PD and several others were taking bids for 38 training ammo, and I won several of those contracts. Before it was over several years later I had loaded 242,000+ rounds , not counting the stuff I was loading for my own uses. Working as a dispatcher in a sleepy little town on the midnight shift left me lots of time to prime brass, then I'd take it home and finish loading it...my wife and kids barely saw me for about three years, but the resulting profits allowed me to buy lots more guns and components. I was also shooting in the police leagues, and got to be a passable pistol shot.

Fast forward several decades. I went from being a diehard pistol guy to experimenting with rifles, and eventually wound up loading for a passel of calibers for both; 22 Hornet, 223 Rem, 218 Bee, 257 Roberts, 25-06, 7x57, 7-08, 308 Win, 6mmBR, 6.5 Grendel, 32-20, 375 Winchester, 38-55, 40 S&W, 357 Magnum, 41 Magnum, 44 Magnum, 45 Colt, 460 Rowland, 45ACP, 450 Bushmaster, 30-30, and 45-70. These days the favorite rifles are the bolt guns in 223, 6mmBR, 6.5 Grendel, and 308, all in fairly accurate rifles. I'm still playing with loads, still obsessing over finding The Load for each one, and I have enough powder to be labelled as The High Priest of the Powder Hoarders on other fora. Primers....not so much. I used to keep 10K of each type, but started buying guns instead of replenishing the stash, and got caught short when supplies dried up. So instead of shooting 20-40,000 rounds a year, I'm now down to a few thousand, when I can find primers and the bullets I prefer.

I'm looking forward to reading and comparing notes here. Any day I learn something is a good day!

started life with a 222 and a lee loader
then came pistols and a 3hole lee turret
now less pistol more 308 win plus a couple of others
large and small primer dillon 550's and a couple of single stage presses
retired and enjoying life

New to the forum but not new to shooting or reloading. I am from Western Canada and looking for some tips and tricks from all of you. Seems we all have the same issues when it comes to reloading supplies.…. Primers, powders and bullets and where do we get them? I have seen people getting as much as $500/1000 for large rifle primers up here.

I tried in the search to figure why I can not start a new post .? Do I have to make so many comments on other peoples posts first? Do I have to be a memeber for a set amount of time? Any help is appreciated
Thx
Marty

Hello, new to the forum. Avid Hunter and gun enthusiasts. I’ve been reloading for years off and on. I enjoy reading the forum and getting opinions and perspectives from others.

Hello Jesse here, new to the site. Had recently got a .41 Rem. mag new model blackhawk 4 1/2. Have H110 powder and 210gr XTP JHP. What primer should I use?

Hey folks, long time reader first time poster. I've been reloading for .223 and 6.5mm CM for about 2-3 years now, and have a background in analytical and biochemistry, now working in the medical field. My main rifles are both Tikka T3X's.

How's it going everyone, have the same opening line as way too many here; "been lurking for a few too many years". Have learned so much from reading the gobs of information members have been sharing. Took the plunge in reloading after wanting too while trading into and buying components, covid was the kick in the pants to finally roll my own. All I really needed was the time to do it and Primer's. Absolute not the perfect time to find them during the hight of the pandemic. But hey, staying vigilant and on the lookout I manged to find enough for this new endeavor. Currently loading .204, .223, .243, .300 Blackout.
Next up will be .300 Savage and .300 wsm.
Thanks

Lurked from time to time. I will try and contribute where I can, but to be honest I do not spend much time in forums. Match director, loader for 20ish years, shoot PRS and now starting NRL, as well as DMR/SPR style matches. Look for my new build and my odyssey make making brass for the 7mm PRC.

Well, I guess it looks like introducing a clown amongst kings! I spent thirty years (until early 2020) without ever pulling the trigger on a rifle, as all my hunting and shooting has been with a bow. Over the years I gained knowledge and have worked on and tuned all my hunting buds bows, as well as countless other members of the community. Decided I needed to learn something new and bought all the parts to build an AR15. Did That and built many more, looking for very good accuracy from that platform. Began reloading for 223 and 6.5 Grendel. Last year bought first bolt rifle. Load for 6.5 Creedmoor and now, after arrival of barrels, will be loading for 22 Creedmoor.
As I state, Clown among Kings! I know so little but look to gain knowledge from the fine folks on this site. I sincerely can appreciate the knowledge one might gain here. Not a competitor but absolutely love creating a load that shoots great in my rifle, and really love taking out some coyotes with my rifles. Sorry for such a long winded intro!
