We've seen a significant increase in pistol topics among our Forum members so we thought it was a good time to create this section. We look forward to member participation. Here's a story from our Bulletin that could be a starter for discussion. This article covers winter hunting with a Remington XP-100 bolt-action pistol. It has a 14.5" barrel chambered for .308 Winchester.

Another Bulletin Article we recommend covers the Smith & Wesson 617 series .22 LR revolvers. We recommend the Model 617 as a great choice for a first handgun. These revolvers have excellent triggers (we like slow-fire, cock the hammer for single-action), and display great accuracy -- we've put 10 shots inside 1.5" at 10 yards.

Originally chambered for six rounds, current model 617 revolvers hold ten (10) Rounds.

In 2011, to celebrate the 100th birthday of the 1911 hangun, Colt created a spectacular, fully-engraved “Anniversary Edition” pistol. J.M. Browning’s 1911 pistol was officially adopted by the U.S. Army on March 29th, 1911. (The U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy adopted the 1911 pistol roughly two years later).
