Weight difference between devcon 10110 and Marine Tex.

In the past I have almost exclusively used devcon 10110 for bedding rifles, but started using Marine-tex lately due to the minimal shrinkage I have read about.

I should have switched to this stuff years ago. I am really liking how nice it is to work with.

I was wondering if there is a significant weight difference in the average bedding job over Devcon. I wouldn't think it would be much but possibly up to an ounce?

I wouldn't think it would be enough to fret over on the average bedding job. I have used a bunch of both products and have settled On MT. it has a better shelf life in my experience and is easy to use. there are a lot of sellers out there that will sell you Devcon almost out of date or expired so beware before you buy. both are good products.

There is no 'significant' difference, although there might be a very tiny difference.

If your weight limit on a particular build is that tight, find somewhere else to save weight. The volume of bedding compound is so small that it should be measured in grams if you're trying to get it that close. Then when you switch scales it's possible that it will lighter or heavier depending on the resolution of the scale.

Enjoy the Marine-Tex!

Does either epoxy "shrink"? My experience is they will both settle before final cure and give the illusion of shrinking.
When trying to reduce weight on a rifle little is gained by removing aluminum, wood, or fiberglass.
