weaver T36 reticle problem...?warrenty

i have this old weaver T 36 and the vertical crosshair is very distorted...the horizontal one is still there with the dot. i haven't done anything to dislodge anything and was wondering if weaver has a warranty or just shoot as is. i haven't done any serious testing to know if the horizontal crosshair is ok or if other internals are out of line. anybody dealt with weaver? thanks.

Is it the earlier El Paso Texas version?

If so, you may have to deal with an independent scope repair service.

Call them and find out as they are part of ATK now I believe. I read on here that a guy sent one back and they handled it very quickly.

Last year I sent in a 36 for repair as it wouldn't hold zero.

Don't know if this is still current, but when you call for an RGA number you can check the address.

If you need to have it repaired independtly, I suggest Bill Ackerman, who was Weaver's El Paso service manager and now has his own repair service. Here is his contact info:

thanks for the info. i read weaver's warranty and i probably can't go that route. "original owner" and proof of purchase are the problems. i'll test it with proven loads and if it passes, shot as is, if not good, consider the above advice or retire it, as it served it's purpose. the T 36 is nice for the price but my sightrons are so clear.
