Weaver T36 questions

I, looking to get a new scope for a rifle I am having built (dual port savage target action 30" Krieger barrel chambered in 308 win, shooting 155 SMK palmas) and the Weaver T36 seems to fit the price range perfectly and is well suited for what I want. I have only one concern , though, the T36 only has 42 MOA of elevation. If I were to use a 20 MOA base, I would essentially be able to use all 42 MOA to get to 1000yds, and them Im just about tapped out for adjustment. THis kind of concerned me, so I thought about using a 40moa base but then I dont think I would be able zero any closer than 350 yds. To thos eof you using a Weaver T36 on a 308 and are getting to 1000 yds, what MOA base do you use? Thanks for the help!

The Burris Sigs alone can get you up to 40 MOA (depending upon ring spacing.) Put a pair of +/- .020" spacers in the rear ring, with the +.020" on the bottom, another pair in the front ring with the - .020" on the bottom and you get (with 4" between the rings) +40 MOA elevation.

If I stack up to 40 moa will I be able to zero/ shoot at 100 or 200 yds? My home range only goes to 200 yds except when the close everything down for 600 yd matches. There are a few places I can shoot 1000 yds and Id like to be able to shoot 100- 1000 yds.

It is an expensive sport and sometimes cost more in the long run go to cheaper in the beginning. I would go a little more and buy a Sightron with some more elevation and leave your worries to reloading and shooting. JMO
