Weatherby stock problem

Hi all. Found your site a few weeks back and just in time. I've got a problem with my Super varminte master's stock that i just noticed. Its a fiberglass stock and should be free floating. The problem is the stock bends until it touchs the barrel. The result is although the rifle shots great groups it shots them all over the place. Eveytime i move to a new shooting position my zero moves. Upto 6 or so inchs at 300 yds. I think I've eliminated everything else that might cause this random grouping,Scope rings, base, exc.) I also reload so the ammo isn't the problem. I would rather not have to buy a new stock so if anyone has had this problem or has a solution I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.
Thanks

Nothing can be done to get it back straight that I know of, but a bit of sanding with a good 220 grit sandpaper will remove the area thats hitting unless your talking about a lot of bending.....
Just go slow and match both sides as best you can..

Sounds like you have a lot of spring in the forend. I had the same problem with a Ruger M77. Take a dowel just larger than the barrel and wrap some sand paper around it. Sand carefully, check often. When you sand do not bare left or right at all.

Had the same problem with my 257 Fibermark. Had my smith remove the band, bed the chamber and float the barrel. My groups went from 2-1/2" at 200 yrds down to an inch.
With the light whippy barrels that Weatherby uses I guess the band makes sense. I've got to give my 300 a similar treatment.
