Weatherby moving

If some cities and towns in WY ever get running water and a sewer system, cost of living is going up. I'm sure immigrants from CA will demand those services.
May want fast internet too, or 4g phone service.
I think the immigrants Wyo. will be getting are the real working class Californians (hopefully) The rest need their own country. I live in far North Ca.and we are embarassed and don't clam from the Bay Area down the coast to San Diego.

I tried to inject some humor in the post, Weatherby would have to be one top notch co for all the employees to make the move, trust me, it will be one big cultural shock.

I think the last straw is Cal is trying/going to claim 1/2 of fed tax relief that companies will receive. That's just plain robbery .
You guys through brown out years ago,
And he got back In?

California takes a major financial hit under this new plan, more so than any other state, by a large margin. You'll see more and more businesses and residents fleeing from CA. No tax relief there. Those deductions they looked forward to and enjoyed are gone. The major players (big money) in Silicon Valley are the winners. The states with the higher tax rates will suffer.

well for my 2 cents if immigrants from CA don't like WY tell them to stay home! I live in small town Oregon and we have been getting a bunch of people moving here from southern CA and from what I have been seeing I wished they would have stayed in CA. I for one will never set foot in CA again and I love WY and the people that I have had contact with.

A lot of people in Wyoming are very welcoming. I used to hunt there frequently. There were many hunters that came there from Wisconsin. It was actually funny that in a local small ranch town, you would see as many Wisconsin plates as you did Wyoming plates. A bar in the town would hold a Friday fish fry, and have Packer football pools during hunting season.

I recall Weatherby building rifles in Maine, and Japan. How many times and places have they moved before? Barlow

I applaud Weatherby for their business decision to relocate. The political and social temperature of the state of Wyoming far better represents the customer base that Weatherby appeals to (you & me) than California. And moving to a state with the greatest number of Pronghorns just can't be a bad idea.

Worked with a guy from Wyoming. Asked what the weather was like there. His reply? Clear and still. Huh?? Snow is Clear up to your a$$ and Still coming down. Cold enough to freeze the balls off a pool table.

Not sayin' Weatherby isn't making the right move for them, anywhere has to be better than CA., but I was wondering...in all this super cheap, cost effective living just what the heating bills were like???? Kinda like everyone bragging how great it is to retire in Florida with no state tax....the state owns the electric company {last I heard} and don't think you aint paying something when you get that air conditioning bill.

Maine is a new one on me, but then again I don't really follow Weatherby. Once upon a time they were actually made in Ca. when they started out....then for quite a while they were made in West Germany. It's not like they moved though, they were always based in Ca. They just had the guns made in different places by other manufacturers.

Some were built by SACO Defense in Maine, Mathewson Tool Co. in Connecticut, Sauer in Germany, Howa in Japan and ATEK in Minnesota.
