Weatherby moving

I think the immigrants Wyo. will be getting are the real working class Californians (hopefully) The rest need their own country. I live in far North Ca.and we are embarassed and don't clam from the Bay Area down the coast to San Diego.

You answer to their politicians tho.

Not sayin' Weatherby isn't making the right move for them, anywhere has to be better than CA., but I was wondering...in all this super cheap, cost effective living just what the heating bills were like???? Kinda like everyone bragging how great it is to retire in Florida with no state tax....the state owns the electric company {last I heard} and don't think you aint paying something when you get that air conditioning bill.

I'm relatively sure the cost per sq foot to build a house can't be much cheaper here than anywhere else, materials still shipped in. With the largest city in WY hovering under 70K people, our costs will never rival big cities, other than Jackson. But we pay elec and heat bills too, water may be cheaper. In smaller towns across the west, cost of living is reduced, but so are services, pay for what you get as always.
Lots of conjecture in this post, going out on a limb and saying I can't see even 50% of production employees making the transition, too much cultural shock.

Fair enough.

Florida Power and Light (FPL) got it's start in 1924, so your information must be really, really old - or wrong. FPL also owns energy companies outside of Florida.
FPL is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, and FPL produces only a portion of Florida's electricity.

Unless I'm wrong, really doesn't matter who supplies the power, FPL is the provider and controls the rates.
We have 4 coal fired power plants within 10 miles of here, our rates no cheaper than anywhere else Black Hills Power and Light serves.

The Florida Public Service Commission is the regulator. FPL is nothing more than one of many power providers in the state. It works that way most everywhere in the U.S.

If that's the case the guy who made the original statement which started this is even more spot on, lol

Before this topic goes off the rails, we all might want to Google "how public utilities work" to become more "edjicated."
