Weather at Camp Butner

What is the weather like at Camp Butner, at the end of Feb. or the middle of March? Thinking about making a trip to see my daughter at Camp Lejeune and making a first time match there on my way back home.

Usually pretty mild, but it could go either way. Best bet is 50-60s during day, I would guess, but we shot the Polar Bear match in early Feb last year and dang near froze to death.

This past May it was chilly for some of us during the 2013 Eastern CMP Games. Typically it is mild like Mudcat stated but can be windy.

Thanks for the info gentleman, I guess I will have to shoot both ranges this year, since I was stationed at Lejeune from 1981 to 1985 while in the Corps.

Good time to make a trip down and shoot at Butner.

Thanks for the info, but I already have plans on shooting with the guys at Coastal Carolina at Lejeune on March 8th and 9th. But I will be back to Lejeune sometime in April for the 1st grandson coming. I'm looking at your schedule to see what is going on then, maybe I will be able to make one then on the way home. I will also have my grandson's first rifle waiting in the safe for him. lol
