He won’t last the winter.
Or much sooner.....LOL I guess it's been a circus being that it's close
to the East avenue ramp and Lampe Marina. It was spotted again on
Tuesday in the same area......Always good for tourism. Some time back
A prank was pulled in one of the local Marina's. They found a dead shark
floating along the dockage. Someone brought up a kill from the Ocean
on ice and dropped it in......I guess they are taking this a bit serious since
families with kids do swim frequently at the beach there, and will have a
wild life rescue company set traps. Would be nice to add it to our Zoo.

"Lake Erie has been setting record high temps and some of these critters will be around for awhile"

I thought OP was blaming global warming aka the planet has a fever for a crock to migrate that far north, but I could be wrong :p

Early 2000 ish my wife and I spooked 2 about 4' in a local lake way to cold for them to survive long term in the spring and early summer water temps are in the low 40s snow melt, Then one bigger one popped up in the Sac river, I think fish and game caught them, Probably knowing this state still here in a zoo being pampered hard to say how they identify trans plants ??? fit right in

Back in the day I had a buddy that was a gator farmer. Raised thousands of them. Initially, China was the buyer and paid a premium for the skins. That market went away and then all the buyers were from Louisiana. Raised them from a hatchling to 4ft. The 4 footers were raised in captivity and we would catch them by hand, rubber band the mouths shut, and use hog staples to hold legs behind their backs like handcuffs so when we put them in trailers to ship they wouldn’t scratch each other and damage the hides. Raised others in ponds and they were bigger and we’d snatch hook them and shot them in top of the head with 22 shorts. He also had a deer processing business so we’d take the tails, run the meat thru the cubers, and fry it all up. We were all in our 20’s and life was good. That was 35-40 years ago.
