Want a 223 Varminting handgun

Nomo4me started this thread June 24, 2011.
Hope he has time to make up his mind by now.:)

Though he was asking about an Encore and MOA Maximum, personally, I liked a xp100r that I moved onto someone else. Still have a rear grip striker in 223, 20vt, 20practical and 308, depending on the day.

Never owned an Encore, but I have a contender with a bunch of barrels, including .45 LC / .410, which a group of us, all having them, shoot pistol skeet with. I also have an XP-100 and one of the things I like about that is that I shoot pistols left handed and that puts the bolt on the right side for a lefty. Both my .221 Fireball and .223 shoot tight groups to 250 yards.

Old threads are like wine, better with age, 232 obviously is not a break-action shooter.
My contender gets a frequent work out and I'm never done expanding it's parameters.

If you want a bolt action, you can build what you want. In my case I bought a virgin Remington 700 SH Left bolt & port. I used McGowen Barrels. My first barrel is a .20 Vartarg which is show on the photo below and I also purchased a .223 in 7 twist. I use the REMAGE barrel setup and really like it. I may get another stock to use as well.

Here is my TC Contender with 14 inch .223 Rem barrel and red dot sight, works very well.
