wanna be a 6BR SHOOTER help W/ loads

I have been studying and working for the past 8 months to gather the equipment and supplies needed, so I can reload for my new 6BR. I need help with recipes as far as powder and bullet choice and weights. The barrel is an 8 twist. Any suggestions on a good load recipe to start out with to help save waste? I have never loaded for a 6BR, only my hunting rifles. I have the basics down, but I guess it is a whole new ball game for reloading for a 6BR. HELP?

Lapua brass, CCI 450 primers, 105 Berger/105 Scenar/107 SMK and 29.5-31.5gns of R15.

A premium 105 VLD such as the Bergers, JLK, Spenser, Clinch River etc. I'd start with the Bergers which are readily available and less expensive.
CCI 450's Lapua brass
Reloader 15, Varget, N540 in the 30.0-31.0 grain range.
* note* above 30.5 things can get hot fast so take the usual precautions working up loads.

G'day galold, I am doing the same as yourself only I am still waiting for the rifle to be completed. There are some great recipes on the main page if you click the reloading info button. Also the 6mmBR for varmints page has a link at the top for some varmint loads with Vmax and hollowpoint bullets.
There is a ton of info here but be careful, it's addictive.

Lapua Brass, 107SMK, F205M 30.4 to 30.8 VVN140. I can substitute RL15 for the same/same load in my rifle.

Having seen some lot variations in Varget and RL15, plus the fact that some barrels pressure up faster than others, I'll go with Lynn on this one, though I've found 29.0 Varget or RL15 is usually a safe starting point. The thing is, the accuracy will be so good during fire-forming, you might as well shoot in a match. The best group I've ever shot with 105s was a .190" for five and that was with 29.5 Varget while fire-forming. It was a shame to waste that sweet group on a fire-forming session.

my load in the 6mmbr that I use is Lapua brass, jlk 105 bullets seated .010 into the lands, 29.5 grains of varget pushed by the 450 primer. the next consistant load was exactly as above but 30.5 grains instead. On another note, I did nothing with the primer pockets, as the cutter I use cuts way too deep and caused ignition problems for me among a weak firing pin spring.

It pay'd for me to start low, as the best loads I have found
were: 28.8 RL 15 with 105 grn scenars. And 29.1 grns with 90 grn bullets.

My rifle really likes, Lapua brass with 30.3 grains of IMR 4895 behind a CCI BR-4 primer shooting a Berger 95 gr VLD seated .010 into the lands.

Which tool do you have? I used the Sinclair tool on my .308 win brass and it seemed really deep. I think it's because it's the first time using the RCBS hand tool and I squeezed the dog turd out of those br-2s.
