Or the flag! How many good barrels do you think get thrown in the scrap every year because somebody misses the tune.?
Not sure I agree. Might be a 50/50 thing. I think a lot of good barrels are tossed. Reading these pages tells one why.Probably not nearly as many as those that get destroyed due to improper cleaning/preservation.
At least such is my observation.
I don't have enough experience to say for sure, particularly among benchrest shooters. Not sure I agree. Might be a 50/50 thing. I think a lot of good barrels are tossed. Reading these pages tells one why.
ABSOLUTELYThere’s been a train car load of barrels scrapped because of bad scopes.
That's the reason my leupold is being sent off for customer service.. just to make sureABSOLUTELY
We should strap one of my Swaros on that thing just to see. That's the reason my leupold is being sent off for customer service.. just to make sure
i can just say Ive got barrels here very cheap that shot very good. mabie not SRBR good though. Dont buy used barrels anymore so who knows wat im missing. some 6x45s may be in my future though so i may want some used barrels for them. How many good barrels do you think get thrown in the scrap every year because somebody misses the tune.?
Impressive. You have to know you have all of the answers to give up on a barrel at 100 rounds. Hope I get that good some day. I will test up to 600 rounds using different powders and bullets before I walk away from a new barrel. If my barrels don't shoot the way I like after 100rds they are gone. Cost too much to keep running back to the range and all of the cost of reloading to mess around with a barrel that MIGHT shoot. I have a few barrels here right now that will be going to friends as they don't care about how their guns shoot. As long as they can hit beer cans at 50yds they are fine with them.
well some people can and some people can't.Impressive. You have to know you have all of the answers to give up on a barrel at 100 rounds. Hope I get that good some day. I will test up to 600 rounds using different powders and bullets before I walk away from a new barrel.
this i have done and would do except i dont hunt anymore. i used to mess with them anyway just to see wat would happen but now with the cost of components and the time i would rather concentrate on a few good barrels.Impressive. if we only knew which were which they mite b worth a tryA lot.
Not only that but after a barrels competitive life is over I have since the 1980's taken more than most would take off each end and rechambered and been happy with the varmint rifle that resulted. gunsmithing labor used to be cheaper but then again so where the barrels. Some of them hunting rifles.
A lot of guys have very narrow focus and no real patient. If it does not produce the result they want right out of the box with very little work it is time to pitch it or sell it on ebay!
I pretty much always agree with you, but not on this one. I’ve had a ton of barrels and never seen one that just had to have a magic combo to shoot well.Impressive.
