VX-6 Leupold scopes & hunting

It has been a long time since i have bought VX3 scope in the high end powers. I am moving out west very soon and getting some things together. I have been looking at the newer VX-6 line of scopes in the 3-18x50 and the 4-24x52 scopes. They seem to be very nice and about what i want to spend for a scope. For any of you out there running 1 of these i would like to know what your impressions are. How do you like the eye box and on the higher end of power how well does it hold up? Do you like the quality of glass in these scopes also for the money? I will be using it mainly for coyotes and rock chucks and maybe for some smaller critters. Hope to hear some good pros and cons on this scope from anyone using this scope.

Thanks,
Dan

I use a couple of the VX-7 line Dan. I believe the VX-6 is a pretty close contender. For a hunting scope, without getting into something like the high end Kahles, they can't be beat. Wonderful glass ;)

I bought a VX-6 last summer in 3-18X44 and I have been very impressed with it. It tracks perfectly and the glass is very clear. I put it beside my 3.5-18X42 Swarovski and it is almost as good. Very little difference. I hunted with it all last fall and I think you will be very pleased with one.....The glass is clearly better that the VX-3....George

I have been looking at them some more in the last couple days. I really like them and i am going to plunk down the money on a 3-18x50. I am not sure which retical i am going to get. i will use it to varmint hunt coyotes and some smaller stuff. I did find a scope the other day that has the boone & crockett and seemed to like it. What retical are you all using?

The B&C reticle is not a bad one. Seems not to clutter the field of view as much as some other range specific styles. What you may not like is if it doesn't fit the ballistics of the caliber you are shooting. I like the scopes, but have been bitten by the zero stop bug. Sure wish Leupold made this.

I got the fine Duplex. I like it a lot....If I had to do it over again, I would get the fine Duplex again...........
